Ok So i take my car to the dealer here to get inspected and check out this clunkin from the front of the car at low speeds. So when he gets to me he tells me that i had open recalls for the power steering and charge piping and he asked me if i wanted them done and i said as long as i get my car back today sure and he said no problem so i just got a call about 10 mins and he said everything was done BUT the clunking sound was a broken strut and yet the car still passed the inspection lol and he said it takes like 4 hours to do and they have to order the part. So i said can i get a loaner today he said no but its safe to drive for a couple of days. SO i say well i work tomarrow and the whole week but i get off at a decent time to drop it off at the dealer so i can get a loaner and he said call before i come there so i can make sure i get a loaner car. Ill give updates as i know more lol.
The recall effects all 08 and 09 models. Like SSlobalt said, it's to modify the existing clip on the motor to "prevent" any possibility of the charge pipe blowing off due to the crappy design they originally had. Only the 2010 models came from the factory with the upgarde already in stalled
Yea they definatly changed the charge piping and the steering and inspection cause it had a new sticker lol. I will say the steering feels slightly heavier and more connected to the road IMO and the new bracket for the charge piping looks kinda aftermarket lol. So hopefully monday i can get my strut fixed if it comes in on monday if not im looking for tuesday then. Oh and its not a stealership cause they gave me a free inspection and i didnt even buy my car there.

update dropped my car off at the dealer should get it back tomarrow and they gave me a cobalt 4 lt sedan as a rental lol. I will never own a slow car again lol i had to stomp on the gas to get it to move a lil bit and it sounds ragged almost. I could never own a stock non ss cobalt ever.
Well finally got my car glad and im glad its back. But even thought they replaced the front strut and did a 4wheel alignment i still have the clunk and of course the service guy said it was normal for all cobalts to do that. I should get a bunch of people with the club im with and drive them up there and say none of these have the clunk sound so how is it normal. Im not mad just wish i didnt have a clunk its not as bad as it was before though.
