Cant seem to post in all the sections yet. Guess my thread count is too low. Looking for tire and wheel advice on going autocrossing. Totally stock '10 SS and looking to maximize tire and wheel combo any advice?

What's your budget? And are they going to be dedicated to just the events?

Not sure on the budget, but yes planning on event tires and wheels. Want to do the SCCA starting line AX school, maybe run a event or two this year on what I have then start fresh next season on a brand new set up so i have plenty of time to save $$$ planning on running the Novice class as long as possible.

225/45/17 on a 17x7.5 wheel. The smaller diameter opens up a lot of tire options, and a little bit of sidewall doesn't hurt. The tires you want are either the Bridgestone RE71R, BFG Rival S 1.5, or Nexen SUR4G. I've thought about this a lot as I'm considering making my Cobalt my daily and backup autocross car.

Can I run that wheel size in stock class? I have seen conflicting information some places say you can go up or down a inch in rim diameter, then i just say something that says in needs to factory stock size rim
