Violent no lift shift

Has anyone else felt like the 1-2 no lift shift is extremely violent. Shifting between anyother gear is smooth as butter but using the no lift shift from 1-2 almost feels like its doing damage?

happen to anyone else??

Well I certainly think it is is the hardest of the shifts, but thats probably due to the more dramatic rate of acceleration experienced at lower speeds.

You don't have to have a TC to NLS...

you just have to be quick about it...

Yeah... in my SS/SC. No-Lift Shifting isn't a new thing.

I've been doing it for years, as have many other people. Keep the gas mashed, quick clutch blip, slamming the next gear faster than lightning...

Indeed it would...

I didn't WOT shift 1-2 on this one though:

...or this one... but you can really hear it on my 3-4 shift...

I don't think I have any of my 1-2 NLS's on video. They go "POW!" really loud. I like them.

No... you just have to be quick.

Give it a shot sometime. Start out WOT shifting 3-4... that's the easiest to do. Once you get good at doing 2-3 quickly when not WOT... try doing it WOT.

Its also been called Powershifting.

Yea you can do it in any car/truck, although it is very hard on your clutch. If you have a badass clutch you can do it without many problems.

O Rly?

I've been powershifting for 50k miles out of the 62k total miles on my stock clutch... and it still engages hard enough to jerk the car around.

You have just gotten very lucky. Why do you think people only do it at the track?

Go cry me a river. Welcome to the internet. Normal conversation steers off in other directions.

Do you honestly expect there to be a 30 page, 500 post thread about how violent NLSing 1-2 is? No. So STFU.

Doesn't matter what kind of car you have... a NLS is a NLS.

i dont expect there to be a 30 page, 500 post thread. But everyone is talking about NLS for the cobalt ss/TC not the ss/sc. And it does matter what kind of car you have, because on almost every car out there a NLS is bad for that car but it is designed by GM for the cobalt ss/TC so **** off.

Your Point?

The OP's original question was:

And then all the n00bers like you that didn't know you can WOT shift in any car, took this thread off-topic. So how about you STFU and stop continuing to do so, as well.

Yeah the 1st to 2nd is kinda harsh but it is normal to lose traction due to cold weather as long as you hear one pop out the back you arent hurting anything I dont think
