What is the lightest you can make a Turbo SS?

When I had my car (08 SS) at the track I put it on the scale and with me in it, the car weighed 3040 lbs on a 1/2 tank of fuel. Subtracting my weight, the car is around 2860 lbs. Now as we all know, weight is the enemy of performance so I was wondering how light can these cars get? I saw on the gm performance site that they got one down to 2300 pounds. Other then removing the interior, tire, etc. how light can these cars be reasonably made?

define reasonably.
you can remove all carpet, take out the stereo, ac, window controlls, all interior panels, remove everything from trunk including carpet, take out passenger and rear seats, remove all speakers. replace body panels with carbon fiber, lightweight wheels, the list keeps going.

basically it all depends on how many features you would be willing to part with, and how much money you have. but you can remove some serious weight if you wanted to. your interior needs NOTHING, technically, but a steering wheel, shifter, and gas/brake/clutch.

Gm made this car as light as they could while still applying updated technology, comfortable seats plenty of room and other good features. Including there lightweight wheels. If u don't these things to make the car lighter, remove everything and only keep driver seat, steering wheel, clutch, pedal, brake pretty much all your basics.

People add Chrome rims to make it look better. Im sure they realize they added an extra 100lbs doing so which brings down the performance.
If u want a light weight fast car, you might as well keep it stock, and only upgrade engine components trying to find parts with the lightest and most durable materials.

That CF trunk and hood will actually give you quite a bit of weight loss. My CF trunk is 10x lighter then my stock trunk.

back seats takes about 1 minute to take out. and they do weigh a decent amount.

and also, the trunk carpet, its seems like nothing but that thing alone is 10 pounds. tire a jack is like35-40.

you can lose the spoiler too.
