I am at my goal for now, 500 wheel horse daily driver. Drives just like it did stock, little more vibrations than stock tho. May switch to E85 and shoot for 550 whp next year. But the biggest goal is to get it to the track since it is finished and run some good times.

I have two. My goal is: to keep one for daily driving and to turn the other one into a monster

just got my SS/TC and all i read is sell it. depressing.

i'm just gonna do fmic, charge pipes, catless down pipe, muffler delete and a tune. won't touch it appearance wise.

hope to get all that together in the next year or 2, its a DD and wife is against me doing anything to it -.-

once she has a job in 2 years though I see it getting more...wheels, coilovers, etc etc.

My goal is to have one of the few existing mint or near-mint stock tc sedans like 30 years from now. It's hard because I can't resist driving this thing every day!

My goal for the TC is to have a 400 whp daily driver. I want to buy another Mustang and build it into the 600 rwhp range as a weekend street/strip car.

A new Evo? Trading your SS plus another $ 20k to buy a car with the same engine and power potentials? Any specific reason why, if you don't mind me asking? Do you like the Evo particularly?

Just want a more grown up looking car. I'm 26 btw. Not to be mean or put anyone down (cause I drive one too and it's a great car) but a cobalt isn't a "nice" ride. Plus the 4 doors will come in handy when I start my family. So I want something 4 doors, still semi sporty, and doesn't eat gas (thought about new 5.0 but doesn't fit the bill) so the Evo would work out. I like the new STi sedans as well but I think I'm leaning towards the Evo. I really don't care about "fast" anymore. Just want something that looks nice inside and out.

I hear you, I'm 35 and I have two SSs, they both shake and rattle because of the NY roads. Can I ask you one thing? Just curiosity, because I love the car. Why not thinking about the STI? Bigger engine, more stock power, still rides great, still 4 doors, the interior is beautiful and AWD like the Evo. You don't like the STI?

Well if that's the case then the Evo X is not what you're looking for. They're rated at 17 city/23 highway which is no bueno. They're gearing is really short and def not set up for fuel economy. I've read 5th gear revs at 3k at 60mph and 4k at 80mph. That just screams gas guzzler. But I gotta admit they do look really nice. If they had a taller 5th gear or maybe have a 6th gear designed as an overdrive gear I'd go for one.

17 city/23 highway it means it really does about 13-14 city/19-20 highway. My car does over 30mpg on the highway in I don't need to pull

I was looking at the mpg of the STI, but I can't find it.

From suby's website: 23 MPG highway 17 MPG city

And I'm not worried about the evo's gas mileage. I mean it's worse than the cobalt's but it's not as bad as a V8/truck/suv and gas mileage is my least concern out of the things I listed.

i'm also 26 and wanted a 4dr car because i have a 3 1/2 yr old and a 7month old.

Evo was on top of my list, could'nt find one in my price range that wasn't beat to **** or on the other side of the country with 100k miles on it.

Sedan SS/TC is a nice compromise imo.

the new 5.0L Mustang GT gets 18/26 mph city/hwy which is better than the EVO. and you do get a little more room in the back compared to the Cobalt in the EVO but you get less than half the trunk space..

That's not bad for the 5.0, I assumed it would get a lot worse than that.

Yeah I probably will buy it brand new so I don't have to worry about if it's been molested.

yea, it's pretty good and, according to C&D, it even runs on regular but the power drops to 402 hp instead of 412.

umm, if I'm not mistaken that's too high boost level for the stock intercoler (specifically end tanks), and the cold side charge pipe;
if you do some reasearch you'll find pictures of intercoclers with broken end tanks, and cold side charge pipes that have blown apart in the flattened area right over the exhaust cam tower...

my goal;
I haven't totally decided.

I will keep the car looking stock;
I love sleepers...
just how stock would be a matter of what I decide needs to be upgraded...
lately there have been MANY items I have toyed with putting on my "want" list...
many of which ZZP makes...

frankly though, I probably would stop modding my car if I dip into the 11's

(I have other cars that I also would like to spend my money on - so I'm probably more divided than most people here)

ditto, if i ran consistent 12.8's is all i'd shoot for, still stock exterior.

i want a project in the garage....right now i got a 98 passat still, maybe i'll dump that on airbags and go 'hellaflush' or whatever the euro kids are doing, if not that, i'd get a pre-93 mazda b-series truck in there and bag/bodydrop.

VW's are expensive to modify, if your heart isn't totally into it, I'd instead encourage you into considering getting an older V8 car to modify...

This is the car which I REALLY want to get done (it's been on hold for a couple years);

the 98-02 Trans Am & Z28 can be made crazy fast relatively on the cheap too...

eh i've done the old muscle car thing. 74 pontiac ventura, 400ci v8, true dual exhaust with headers, holley intimidator mufflers, edelbrock intake mani/carb etc. was a beast to drive, 7mpg was my DD while I had it, haha.

i do love my passat, and a slammed VW on some BBS's with a little poke/stretch with plaid headliners and some stickers on it(don't hate) i love the look of it. Car just burned a hole in my pocket in repair costs and i'd rather just get an old mazda that is carb'd and just lay it out.

here is my cardomain site...you can see all my old cars, have had quite a few from many different 'genres' enthusiasts.
http://www.cardomain.com/id/rook99z71

As for the Passat, it's on coilovers now, i'd love to get it running now and make it a 'i'm bored, lets go drive around' weekend kinda car, just slam it as low as i can and still make a right turn lol.
