I'm 23 years old, and only get one chance in my life to own an inconvenient 2-door car. I'll have kids to worry about soon enough, but for now I want a car that encourages my friends to drive themselves. (My girlfriend drives an f-body Firebird GT, so we really don't want to drive friends around)

I was told last week of July as an estimate, but the plant hasn't preffered the order yet, so it's just my dealer blowing smoke up my ass.

Whoops, forgot to mention that, I did order a Coupe, I have no idea when the sedan might lumber off the production line.

Although the high profile spoiler is only and option on the coupe, so if I wanted the boy racer look I could only get the coupe.

Usually the new model year vehicles start shipping late August early September. As far as the sedan goes, I though I had read that it was not going to be out until January of 09 (I could be mistaken on this though so don't take my word for it).

Hasn't the plant started production the 09's, GM not going to hold them until August or September...GM needs the money and the dealer is not going to pay for a car that hasn't even been shipped. JMO

Later,
Al

Typically the plants don't retool and start producing the new model years until after the 4th of July. It has always been that way. Basically new model year production starts the third week of July, first shipment of vehicles goes out August...

what my boss told me today, is that they usually dont build the next model year until after the july shutdown and they usually start shipping within a week, they have to have a full truck. mine still has not been preferenced and i have had it ordered since May 10.

I work at the Lordstown plant and we started building '09s last Tuesday, but we didn't build one SS coupe or sedan all week.
