Will a 17 inch rim fit a 08/09 SS ?

It looked hilarious... I should have taken a better photo from the side... so you could see the spare AND the 18's.

Yeah I had to use mine once as well. Definitely homo as far as the looks department goes. It's like one of those people you see that has one leg that's like 6" longer than the other.

Hahaha... yeah. That's when you realize how fat the rear-end is on the Cobalt.

Read it VERY carefully. 9 times out of 10 they don't cover what you think they cover. You curb a rim, not covered. Blown tires unless there's proof of road hazard damage they will claim under- or over-inflation and not cover.

Go curb a rim and see if they will cover it.

Anything wrong = manuafacturer's defect. Which are few and far between. You curb a rim and they'll laugh.

As far as tires they MIGHT include a "road hazard" clause. Then if you pick up a nail or something you're OK, but they won't cover a blowout or anything like that they could possibly blame on improper maintenance. They also won't cover premature replacement because they usually deem that as "abuse".

My best friend used to sell "tire and rim" warranties to unknowing schmucks all the time, so I'm pretty familiar with all their ins and outs.

I used to sell tire and rim warranties...we were VERY good at taking care of customers...even when they were negligent (ie: run-flat a tire, which means driving on a flat tire, this results in the rims shredding the inside of the sidewall)

It all depends on the wording of the agreement. 95% of the wheel and tire warranties a) cover what's already covered in the bumper to bumper warranty and b) won't cover "damages". The other 5%, which it sounds like you're talking about, are called warranties but are more like a consumer protection/insurance plan where it covers any damage done to the wheel or tire.

When I hear "tire and rim warranty" I just assume it falls into that 95%.

Most people don't understand they gotta look for the all-important "road hazard" piece. Soooooo many people used to buy the wheel and tire warranty where my best friend used to work, then couldn't understand why they wouldn't fix their rim after they were talkign on a phone and smashed a curb. If it doesn't say road hazard, it ONLY covers manufacturer's defects.

That is why I didn't bother with it.

If it is a defect, I have a good dealer, and they are going to cover it anyways...a road hazard plan...meh...IMO not where my money is going to go.

LOL you've also got the same issue I do. If people in PA/NJ offered true 100% "road hazard" coverage, they'd be out of business within 6 months.

If it's through the dealer or GM, they won't cover non-GM wheels. If it's from a wheel and tire shop, they'll generally cover anything you purchase from them.

"They fit.

5x110 and 40mm offset...pointless thread."

This is what you said about Cobalt SS/SC rims, that of COURSE they would fit a TC.... blah blah blah... And of course you then answer a non
hostile post with,"Probably because you are an idiot or made a stupid post...please point out where I called your post pointless please?"

Idiot? Stupid Post? Pointless? I asked a simple question to see if someone could try ss/sc rims on a ss/tc to see if they would fit....

Next time you should probably try and help instead of just having a snide remark... Good job...........
