Will JBWELD seal an aftermarket intercooler?

Well I bottomed out again coming out of a parking lot... The endtank of my ZZP intercooler has a 1/16" wide X 1/2" long crack from where it struck the bumper. If i had to describe it would be like a 1" dent with the crack in the middle of it. I am wondering if there is a reliable "redneck" fix for this? Would JBWELD seal this leak and hold up to boost? Or am I doomed to have to get my intercooler welded?

I also busted my radiator for the second time. I am getting pretty good at pulling the front bumper, intercooler and radiator.

Thanks

Talk to ZZP. I believe one of the ZZP guys stated on here that they would warranty any of their IC's that were damaged from bottoming out.

If they won't replace it: you need a new one. JB Weld will not hold up to boost.

Not likely to hold unless you can make a plug out of it and flatten the inside as well.

I knew a guy that used Devcon Titanium Epoxy Putty on a 2 stroke crankcase and it held making a plug out of it and flattening it inside and out of the housing. (He threw a rod)

Get it braised or welded for the long run.

I highly doubt this, and if so, holy hell customer service.

I can't help but notice you mentioned replacing the radiator with a lifetime warranty unit as well. I don't think "bottoming out" is something a parts supplier should cover.

Learn to drive, use an angle on incline approaches, and pay for the **** you destroy. Neither of those parts failed you, your driving failed them.

I've said it before, but this ******* place never ceases to amaze me .

Seeing as I have payed for two radiators in a row now without crying foul I would appreciate it if you would lay off. In both cases the peg inside the bushing snapped creating a quarter sized hole. My driving is adapting, the roads in CA are very diffrent than were I grew up in ohio and where I have been stationed overseas.

I am not crying for a handout from GM for making their radiator of an inferior design with plastic end tanks.

I am also not talking **** on ZZP's product. I am an adult and accept responsibility for my actions.

But I have to say the $300 I have spent on radiators, and whatever it will cost to repair the IC is a expensive learning curve.

Do any OEM's not use plastic end tanks these days? Generally they are just fine until they hit stuff.

Working in the collision industry, everything possible is plastic now, and radiator endtanks have been for years! This is not an inferior GM issue, it's year 2011.

Sorry to be so blunt, however a good place will not charge too much to button that IC up, and you'll be satisfied knowing it's fixed correctly.

That's what I thought. I worked at a Ford supplier about 10 yrs ago doing radiators and they were all plastic tanks going back to the late 80s maybe more.
