.043 gap and 25 psi...
.043 gap and 25 psi...
And car runs great! Had a bad misfire last night shifting 2nd to 3rd which broke the porcelain on cylinder#4 spark plug so I picked up some Autolite XP from O' Reilly's. I threw them in with the pre-gap of .043 and the car pulls harder and get better mpg!
My old plugs were NGKs that I gapped at .025 after reading all the assumptions in threads that the spark would blow out.
Trifecta e47 tune @25 psi on a 59000 mile '08.

Well here's the thing autolites are.****. I guarentee you datalog car and youlll see a shitload of misfires.. there grounding strap is always positions incorrectly and is always ****.....
autolites stock are ok but once tuned i had nothing but problems with them....horrible misfires...car sounded like it was gonna blow up. put in a fresh set of stockers gapped at .30 and it ran great. and .43 is too much and .25 may be too close.
So when we doing Ure car lol.[/B]QUOTE=Superbalt06;6152543]I ran ngk bpr 8es plugs in the Dsm with no problems. That was at 28lbs flowing around 49 lbs/min gapped at .028. Autolites are lame.[/QUOTE]
Ran it at night when it was 20 degrees colder and guesses what! A plethora of misfires!
Gonna gap em' down to .030 and see how long they last.
How did you see that ground straps were misaligned? Head was off? I'm guessing more misfire-prone when misaligned?
I just sold the eclipse. It was a 97 It was getting too old. I was thinking about using the money to turbocharge the Balt. I have a s256et sitting on my bench from the eclipse. All I would need is cobalt hot side for it. It's so tempting but I want the car to be my DD so I'll probably leave it alone for a while.

I was talking to you bro.. lol. Sorry bout Ure back.... Smack Ure buddy in the head lol.
All u have to do is take a plug out and look at the ground strap and electrode. itll be off to the side which cause a shitload more gap.

i have my 3rd surgery in less than 18 months coming up in March.....a spinal fusion....supposed to be the "end all" to all of my back problems.......i sure ******* hope so! I've had the bumper off for the past week or so and have been out there looking at it but i just can't be under the hood for more than 20 minutes or so before the pain gets too bad. hopefully i can get it taken care of maybe this weekend when my girlfriend is home and i don't have the kids to deal with.

I have a herniated disc at L5/S1....the surgeon did what is called a discectomy/laminectmy which is where the cut off the portion of the disc that is protruding out from the herniation. imagine a hamburger patty that is sticking out from the bun....they just cut it off and make it flush so it is no longer protruding. i had my first surgery in september 2010 and within two weeks of surgery the disc re-herniated. my second surgery was exactly 4 months later in february 2011 and all was well for about 3-4 months and then it herniated again. now since so much of the disc has been removed, the disc is now significantly reduced in thickness as well as protruding and pushing on the nerves again. now a fusion is necessary for 2 reasons. first being that something is obviously happening causing the herniation to keep occurring. second the disc has lost so much thickness the surgeon says within 10 years no matter what the disc will be reduced so much that the vertebrae will be bone on bone. now this fusion is supposed to be the end all, ultimate fix but honestly it scares the ******* **** out of me. i don't want to go thru the pain of surgery again or the long ass recovery involved, plus i have seen fusions go bad and totally **** people for life. my surgeon is one of the best in the state and has performed thousands of spinal surgeries over the last 20+ years but hey **** happens and it truly scares the **** out of me.
good luck to both of you.

Yea dude, my grandma had like 15 back surgeries over the course of about 18years... when I was a kid I never remembered her fully healthy after I was like 8 or 9 (after a few of her surgeries it got even worse)... which sucks cuz she is so badass. She is a huge competitor so she didn't want to 'give up' on being able to still have mobility in her spine. She finally got a spinal fusion like 10 years ago. The huge problem was, because she was so stubborn, and didn't let them fuse her spine, the rest of her body is paying the price. She just had double knee replacement surgery a few years back and she need a new hip now... nor more softball for her.
With all my motorcycle, skiing, and surfing stunts I'm bound to pay the price sooner or later... and by the way my back feel probably sooner.
