09 SS/TC Downpipe

So lately I have been thinking of getting a down pipe for my TC. It currently has a k&n intake. And a moderate hpt tune over my gms1. Is there still only the two places to get the down pipes from ? Either ZZP or Modern Performance ? And lastly , what kind of gains did you guys feel with the down pipes power wise ? Any difference at all ? The sites claim 7 to 9 hp. Wondering if that is even realistic. And which down pipe is best to use for no check engine lights.

Thanks

besides a tune, the downpipe is the biggest hp gain for an LNF. ZZP, Modern Performance, Turbo XS all have an lnf dp. im not sure if OTTP has one or not. I am catless and when i did my dp and a tune i noticed a big difference. If you dont want catless go with a high flo cat.

Is one better then the other ? Say fitment wise or power gain wise ? Zzps downpipe is only $150. While modern performance is $250. And they claim a 7 to 9 hp gain. While zzp says nothing about gaining any power at all from theres. I will be getting a catted one.

no they are all stainless steel lol. i have turbo xs one and i need to get a new one because its 7 years old lol. the flex pipe is coming apart. id just go with ZZP it will work great. make sure you get gaskets as well. then get a good tune in there and youll be very happy!

Sorry to be asking a ton of questions about a simple down pipe. But I'm curious. Why would i need a re-tune ? My car is already HPT tuned. So my torque management is already disabled. And will there be any check engine lights at all with a CATTED down pipe from zzp or mp.

No need to retune. There may be a code for catalyst efficiency below threshold, but a de-fouler usually prevents that.

what is a de-fouler ? And where do I get one ? And how much are they cost wise ? And any idea if I would see any actual power gains with a new catted down pipe at all ? On the sock exhaust. But with a muffler delete. I am stuck exhaust but I replaced the stock muffler with a straight pipe.

The stock exhaust flows very well. You should see a gain, I would think of around 10hp. I had a ZZP catted dp and now have a catless one. They let the motor breathe better too. Worth every penny.

It's an L shape pipe that connects where the o2 sensor goes. It takes the o2 sensor off direct stream to prevent a code
