Adjusting the waste gate for more boost?

Does anyone know or has anyone adjusted the threaded rod on the waste gate coming off the turbo? By adjusting that rod will that increase or decrease my boost? Like on the Buick Grand National by adjusting this threaded rod you can change your boost 1 turn equals 1 pound.

boost is controlled through the PCM. get a tune to change boost levels. don't mess with the wastegate rod

^What he said.

If you start messing with the wastegate adjustment it'll cause you all sorts of problems. Just get a tune.

And let me ask this with already having the GM turbo upgrade kit would i benefit from a tune hp or trifecta and is it possible to do this tune and keep that upgrade? And what would the benefits be?

Go get HPTuned and you'll know the benefits

I got HPTuned in July and was GMS1 with a catless downpipe and airbox mod and thought my car was fast then (best 1/4 pass was a 13.5) but once I got HPTuned I realized how deprived I was. This car needs a tune. Just do it.

(my $.02)

Yes. It just changes the boost parameters. No mechanical changes.

yes, the upgraded map sensors are a benefit, the actual gms1 tune wont be there but it is still compatible with hpt.

if i was you i wouldn't, if you have never done it before now might not be the time to start, you can certainly buy HPT and byt or any other reputable tunner can help you via email but you are close enough to just drive to his shop it might be a 3hr drive but it will be worth it and cheaper then buying HPT..... i drive 2.5 to have him tune me......IDK if byt will be doing one but you can wait and see if he will be doing any more dyno days in Pottstown PA. that may also be closer

Question, could this have been adjusted when I got my K04+? if so how do I make it back to normal?

For what its worth I had GMS1 and I just tuned over it with Trifecta. Now, with cruise control off Im in trifecta running 22-23psi, cruise control on is back to GMS1 making about 20psi. Its night and day, fast as hell now! I also have a Dejon SRI and TurboXS catless DP.

That wouldn't cause a no boost issue since you were making 20psi unless your wastegate is stuck open.

I see, but I think it is stuck open. I can't make boost, my max boost is 0 psi at the moment
