it will help with some throttle response , but it really makes a difference in noise. I cant hurt your car, just try not to get a lot of water into the there or it could cause your car to hydrolock. Hydro locking wont happen from just small ammounts of water, a large ammount would need to be introduced to cause actual damage.

I actually tried that at one point, but my A/Fs were all sorts of screwy even with a tune.. Once I went to a true CAI and retuned everything was good again.. I'll tell ya what, having the cone filter so close to the turbo (like a short ram) made a really badass BOV sound though.. you're better off with a drop in and maybe the airbox mod

there's an airbox mod??

lol j/k... I've never done it personally, but from what I understand guys are getting rid of the accordian flex pipe that connects to the turbo and replacing it with a silicone hose.. then some guys are cutting holes in the bottom of the air box to allow more air, some are modifying the air inlet snorkle and some other things as well.. try searching it.. I was never crazy about cutting up my airbox so I kinda strayed away from it.. hopefully that helped at least a little.. I'm sure someone will correct me at some point and probably be of more assistance..
