There is more to a tune than peak boost. I doubt you have the same settings as GM.
Regardless, I never claimed that you modified the piping and I haven't seen anyone else have this type of failure. I'm not trying to pick on you or anything, but it's likely that you'll have this problem again...
...why make yourself and the dealer go through the hassle of replacing it if the problem can be avoided. You said it yourself, GM is "cheaping out" on the piping and your right that it definitely does not seem up to the task of handling your tune. Just upgrade it and never worry again. Again, just trying to help you resolve the issue.

No problems yet; had mine replaced per service bulletin. Maybe the replacements are stronger
I guess the cheap underhood/interior plastics help make the car lighter and more affordable but...I'm GMS1 now and do not wish to duplicate this; piping WILL be next mod.

The material gm used for that is, cheap and very easy to process, but also has good hot and cold weather properties. I will say useing polyethelyen for charge piping, not smart, but deff a good way to save a few bucks. The "pancaked part" as you guys called it, is actually called the Parting Line, it is also one of the weaker points as you are all finding out. Of course there are ways processing around this issue and GM's injection molder deff dropped the ball on that one. They shouldve made it out of a glass filled nylon just like the end tanks on the intercoolers, much more durable. I'm an injection mold process tech by the way.
