yes, you replace a small section of exhaust with a cut out and every, so it will fit on 99.99% of cars, 100% of street legal cars. You can get a manual, or electric. Saw a vid on youtube once sounded like **** maybe just the internet. But cant find the link

omg people do some research. all you do is weld it in line with your exhaust wherever you want it. they come in a variety of different diameters. its not rocket science

If you have pipes coming out your hood then it wont fit.

I had one of the vacuum activated ones from ATP Turbo on my MR2. It went for 3 years without a hitch until I switched to a different exhaust. Everyone I know locally who's done an electric cutout has had it fail, thus why I opt'd for the ATP unit.

yo those are the only videos i see...only reason i wanna buy 1 is to make it a sleeper look...on top of that i dont feel like having an aftermarket exhaust and getting pulled over for it...but i wanna see how it sounds on the lnf

try modernperformance.com they have it for the t/c and sc also

They're available from ATP Turbo (google it), but often out of stock due to popularity. Just so the mod's dont harass me... I'm in no way affiliated with ATP Turbo. They have a 2.5" and a 3.0" model.

It won't just bolt-on to your car. It will require you to take the vehicle to an exhaust shop and have it welded in.

Boost activated cutout... thats a pretty neet idea. Opens only when you're under boost, no need to flip a switch or whatnot.

dromano89 has one on the lnf, sounds aight, dont know how it would work with a tune though i mean you get tuned with it open and then close it and your air flow is different!

My take on the cutouts - considering I had one on the car for a SHORT time.

Dont buy cheap. Even some of the nice expensive ones leak when they are closed, but since this was an experiment for sound I got one of the cheapest I could find (used) - its the one you can get from jegs I think. Terrible exhaust leak at idle. Sounded like crap when open at idle.

The sound under WOT wasn't too bad though, just loud.

Problems I encountered - It kept triggering a P20xx (I cant remember the exact code) - I have a catless downpipe and don't trigger any codes without the cutout on there. The really odd thing is for some reason it was screwing with my AFRs (with or without the code!). Id be sitting at idle (cutout closed or open) and it would richen up to 9:1, then suddenly recover to 15:1 or even 16:1! It couldn't hold stable at 14.7:1.

Heres a video I made with it - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iw2ODRztqkg

After encountering so many problems, rather than getting a high quality valve I just gave up and put the plate back on the exhaust cutout. No problems since.
