Bad Break Boost Sensor

Ok so I'm on my way to school on Thursday and I get the "SVC BRAKE SYSTEM" message on my dash and I'm like wtf. I couldn't do anything about it that day cuz I was busy so later that night I took a look in my owner's manual and read that it said if you get this message to take it to the dealer immediately. So on Friday after I got out of school I went to the dealer. Waited 2 hours for them to hook the scanner up to the car and to tell me that my brake boost sensor went bad. They're ordering one for me but they said it might take like two weeks to get it, which is bullshit in and of itself. My question is, has anyone with an SS/TC had this happen to them and why would my sensor go bad? Is there anything that could've caused it or is it just a bad batch of sensors? Thanks.

my brake booster sensor went bad 8 months into having the car and two days later after that, the wheel sensor when bad too.. got everything replaced in two weeks..

as for the dealer ordering it, its most likely its true, it will take 1-2 weeks to get the parts because GM doesnt stock odd parts like that.. i.e.:brake booster sensor & wheel sensor.. most of there odd parts are ordered thru there vendors.. which GM has to order for you.. not backing them up just know for a fact..

Ok good to know. I've had my car one year this past Halloween and my car was built earlier that month. I just couldn't see a sensor only lasting barely a year but it is GM we're talking about here lol. It's getting covered under warranty so I don't really mind.

mine used to pop every once in awhile, about every 2 weeks, and then go away by the time I would take it in, and the dealer could never find anything wrong, hasn't come back on in a long time...
