bad injector/s

so a couple of weeks ago I noticed my car was smoking a pretty good bit at random times so I decided to do an oil change a littl earlier than normal turns out I had about 2 extra quts of oil than I put in also my fuel trims were all over the place.

So on to the problem turns out I have a bad or possibly several bad injectors. I swapped out my whole fuel rail and injectors with a spare that a local had and all my problems are resolved no smoke fuel trims are dead on and we will see if I gain any oil over the next several days.

My question to you guys how would I go about getting this warrantied just take it in and tell them I think I have a bad injector or what?

Glad you got it worked out man! It definitely sounds like a defect with the injectors and/or rail considering youve only been running gas through it and aren't really pushing any sort of crazy power. Shouldn't have a problem taking it to the dealer.

Good thing it turned out to be the injectors and not a popped piston man. As far as warranty, well you could tell them that you suspect an injector cause there was fuel in your oil when yo did your oil change and that should make them check that.

I had a seal missing on the #3 injector into the head. At 50k miles it started leaking compression around the mechanical fit. No seal was ever there afaik, no signs of it anywhere when I pulled out the injector rail. #3 came out of the head with the fuel rail, the others were tight in the head but came off the rail instead.

None were leaking fuel through the injector though.
