Thanks for the input guys .... I love my cobalt..... Just gm reps..... are redic when it comes to this ..... seriously im sure it hardly costs them any money to make the motor and to spare one? if you buy a turbo car your most likely to do stuff to it.... and you know whats gms words were? " its not a race car" its not a full blown race car... but.... its still turboed and fast.... i just dont understand it.

I feel for you but you had a tuned car in no way is that gm's fault. If you want to mod your car be prepared to pay for it if it breaks.

Lawsuit? really?

Its not GM's fault you decided to put a tune, and then beat the **** out of your car at the track... you have already admitted the front tires are quite worn up front @ 14,000 miles, and that you NLS often...

DAMN GM!!

Really? You don't know why GM wouldn't warranty your car? You tuned it and broke it. If you sue someone for something so stupid they should be able to shove the entire car up your ass for wasting every ones time.

how much boost was ur tune set to? let me guess north of 24 psi? say like 27 psi?? if it was, thats why u popped ur motor, everyone running that high boost on stock turbo, pistons blows it eventually.

I've always heard that K&N products don't void your warranty, especially if its just the air filter, I'd fight that bra...

Ok lets take a time out here.

What Trifecta Tune did you have? Was it over 22-23PSi? Did you have the infiniboost tune? Do you know if the car was properly datalogged after the tune was first flashed on to the car?

People with mild Trifecta tunes that are properly datalogged and tweaked have never had any issues, lets keep that in mind.

Second of all what other mods? Are all of your mods properly tuned/datalogged for?

NLS'ing is hard enough on your tranny as is IMO but when your doing it on a tuned car your just asking for trouble. Yet I still don't see how NLS'ing could blow your motor.

Log your car while you nls tuned. Miss that nls and there's 6-7 degrees of kr at the rev limiter, how can it not blow your motor

If you blew the ringlands on 2 cylinders, something was very, VERY wrong. Also possible that someone overrevved the engine and bent valves. You need a leakdown to determine what's busted. I'm guessing the car smokes and/or sounds like hell.

How much boost and peak timing? Were you logging KR and misfires? Anyone that gets a tune and isn't logging KR and misfires is asking for trouble.

p.s. Stop spreading rumors that missing NLS will blow the motor. That's total garbage, unless you stuff it into the wrong gear.

a few things... 1) If you have a tune and they caught it, they WILL block your VIN. You gotta pay to play.
The muffeler delete and K&N will not cause an engine to blow... Not 14,000mi, or 140,000mi. A tune would if it is not logged properly.
2) Did you leave your time slips on your front seat or in your car somewhere? If they find time slips, they will also deny all warranty repair. GM covers "Spirited Driving", not DRAG RACING.

IMHO, and knowing some folks in the warranty business..they probably scanned your ECU and saw the tune or they saw that you reved it to the point where it blew. Either way, it's your fault, not a manufacturing error.

Just my $.02...

If they never said anything about a tune, I would tell them to get gm on the phone and let's get down to work and you aren't leaving till they tell you and show you why that blew the motor. No way a filter caused the problem. Kind of weird tho that you have two at 75 and two at 150, the 150 is right on the money.

Obviously they didn't know about your tune, doubt they test drove your car to see how much boost is. Techs get paid **** on warranty work and they do not want to do a motor swap for a tard that completely f*cked up his car, soooooo.... they come up with the reason that the k&n and muffler delete caused this.

P.S there is a new law that they have to PROVE that this would have caused the problem you are having.

^^ but, they hope you are as stupid as you look and fall for it.

Put your tune back to stock!!!, Put everything back on including muffler and crappy paper filter!! go to a different dealer.

Trifecta tunes are trash unless you have them actually tune your car in person on the street or dyno.

seriously? You just said trifecta tunes are garbage, but any reputable trifecta dealer will data-log and make sure that **** is near perfect. Trifecta also has some fuel tables that hpt don't. You are a complete moron.

you don't need a dyno to have a safe and effective tune on a car.
