blown turbo....
Wow, that would suck. This is just my opinion. On stock cars getting a tune and running4-5psi over stock boost is beyond me. In my opinion a tune should come after a few other mods. WGA spring/diaphrams are only rated for a certain amount of psi, after a period of running more then that spring rating the spring will either completely collapse or even melt(happened to my friends srts WGA). A turbo going bad that early in its life, i cant see that happening unless from the time he starts the car til the time he turns it off, he is on the gas and hitting 20psi the whole time. This same thing is happening to my boyfriends ss/tc but i personally think its the wga, the stock springs are sooo weak its crazy. This is just my thought on it, I personally have a neon srt-4 and my stock wga spring i could compress with no force at all, my upgraded wga with a 21pound spring takes a lot of force to actually compress it. When i bought the new wga the spring it came with was rated for 15psi which i had set the wga for 18 and with in a month i had to buy an upgraded 21pound spring, but hell maybe srt-4s and ss's are different, if so then ignore this little paragraph of useless info!
A stock SS\SC will only do 140-143... (not governed) I've driven them flat out on GM's proving grounds... You'd need about 255-265 crank hp, up from the stock 205 hp to hit 160 in a SS\SC.... You must have had lots of mods and mucho hp to feel ytou had a lot more left....
I doubt the turbo is bad.. he needs to check the codes before the dlr does....
I'll bet your car does not like that Lightweight flywheel....

lot in information in this post....
periods and breaks are your friend though, don't be afraid of them
update: the dealership that he hates taking his car to is the one that HAD his car when this post was started. they tried doing anything and everything to void his warranty. he got sick of it, and he called a real friendly service manager at the dealer ship he normally takes his car to, and he said to bring it in and he will see what he can do. we took his car there yesterday, and are awaiting another update
