if you have problems it wont be for a year or two...itll probably start simple, like needing a new belt tensioner
it's NOT a balancer btw it's called a harmonic damper (it doesn't balance your crank) the whole design is to reduce wear on driven components (namely when the a/c compressor kicks on and off) when there is nothing there, that is when it starts to wear out alternators, tensioners, the compressor...will it blow up your motor...no of course not.

yall are trippin on a pulley. A the pulley will not mess up your motor. For ppl who arent real mechanics wouldnt know they just go off what other ppl are telling them or what they have read. All new motors from new cars come internally balanced not externally like older cars. Ive had pulleys on my other cars and ive installed pulleys on other types of cars. Im going to buy it once i install my tune on my car and get rid of this learn down feature. The pulley is the same exact size and design as the stock pulley its just lighter and the lighter the rotational mass the faster the revs the more power that is freed up. Let me know how you like it. Nice mod and very well worth it.

But what u guys don't understand is its not a major difference in balance! Its so minimal! U probably won't see any side effects for a life time. I've talked to several engineers about this. All of them have said u would be doing way more damage with a light weight flywheel than this crank pully.

Everymod that I have done to my car I've asked the professional opinoin of the engineers my father works withat GM they sat there should be no damaging side effects to the engine. As long as the pulley is the same size there will be no issue

as i said before no car uses a harmonic balancer anymore on newer motors. Engineers have founds ways to balance them without using harmonic balancers. That subaru post the guy has a 2.2L turbo subaru. Subie doesnt use a 2.2L turbo any more. Its 2.5L turbo and you can use a light weight crank pulley seen it done and the wrx is still running perfectly fine and strong.

I don't think that putting a lightweight crank pulley on the car is going to cause damage, at least not immediately. Over the course of 5 years or 100K miles, maybe. More than likely if it does end up causing damage it would be a rod bearing, and linking it to the pulley would be hard to do. The biggest issue you would see with disrupting the balance of the motor would be with high RPM operation, but even then there is no way to know how high would be "bad".
