BOV installation process and recommendations
so he data logs and knows his specs in all weather? He knows his boost pressure, afr's, iat's, exhaust temps, running rich or lean? probably not.... just because you dont throw a cel doesnt mean its not a problem. The SS/TC's ecu is very good at changing to compensate for things like that. Is he tuned?
Thanks again lol
he has a wideband that reads the same as it did before the bov. Clearly you obviously know more bout this car then I do. Just tellin you what I have witnessed. maybe its an act of god lol Not lookin for an internet battle just info on tmy situation but thanks for your input. I am getting a full dejon ic piping with special ann. blk hks ssq bov already welded on the hot pipe and the resirc hose included. the plactic stock sucks dick anyways + the hard pipe kit looks good w/ result of better flow, which i know you are aware of.
Thanks again lol

I had a ms3 before this and replaced the BPV with a upgraded one. Did data logging to find the right spring and shim combo. Once done it helped a ton to stop boost leak. But that was a bpv not a bov. People that had bov's usually had issues, some got it to work. But no one should really need them seriously, until you go with a bigger turbo, tune and know how to put the right settings on the bov.
the thing is if the ecu compensates enough and the bov is actually "tuned" and setup properly or by accident it may not cause any issues you see. He would need to datalog before and after install of the bov to actually see if there was a difference. Im not saying it cant be done properly and work. I'm saying most the people on this forum get it done because they want to hear that stupid noise. Now if they get boost flutter like most the srt4's and dsm's its not working properly. flutter isnt good. Im not trying to start a fight either, your post asking me why it worked seemed slightly aggressive, but **** happens and its the internet. hard to get emotions off text.

Well you have to "cap" or plate off the bpv on the turbo housing but otherwise sounds like you have the gist. its just some bov/bpv's have spring settings and shims to install, which is what I mean by "tune" or setup the bpv/bov properly. I purchased a dashhawk so I could data log and see what my boost was like, see if I had leaks at wot. Then I would change the shim or spring in the bpv depending on what was happening. Im not sure which model bov you are getting or if it has settings/tuning like that..it must though, they arent really pnp... most have a screw on the top with a spring that you can tighten or loosen so you can change the pressure it releases the air...that would be what I am referring to.
