I would consider getting a Trifecta tune JUST for that feature and then re-tune it myself...**** my car is loud on warmup

Well I have a Trifecta tune and cable, so I just got a new tune file with the cat warm-up delete on it and I wanted to make sure exactly what I was putting on before I installed it on the car.

Now that's a good description of what it sounds like! I think it sounds pretty badass myself, but it is excessively loud on cold starts.

If there are no real advantages other than the fact that it's quiet during startup, I may not load the new tune, or maybe I will try it out to see if I like it or not. Thanks for the input guys.

cat warmup is the reason why i put my stock DP back on. If you have to leave at 6:30-7 in the morning and you have neighbors all around you, catless DP with little muffling and cat-warmup is horrible. I used to put the silencer in my megan racing everymorning, start the car, then take it out before i left. what a pain getting those little screws and nuts on by hand at 630 in the morning in the winter when its 4* out

Well I sold my stock DP, so that's not an option for me. I have a Catted DP and a muffler so it's not too loud, but it's loud enough. I guess I don't really have to load the new tune then if it's only purpose is to quiet the car during cold startup.

its not just for cat warm up...its also for engine warm up. thats why it maintains the higher idle until your coolant reaches a specific temperature, not the cat converter.

Good question.. I wonder if you delete it if it hurts the car in any way. Hell i just drive it right when i get in and dont wait for it to warm up at all. Seems like it's pointless. But it would be good to know for sure. I might delete it

working a cold engine causes it to wear faster. The OEM has an increased idle speed to help it warm up faster and prevent as much driving as possible from occurring when the engine is cold.

+1 and I have the stock catback. Almost everyone looks at my car funny when it's cold started.
Sure you can blip the throttle after about 5 seconds but it's still loud until you do so. I don't mind waiting a 60-90 seconds for the car to warm up a bit, just hate that it sounds like I'm getting ready to launch down the quarter mile under mild boost.
