Hmmm usually it is except for wear and tear items like the clutch and brakes which are only warrantied up to a certain point. Tell them that you're only 2k over the warranty, and there's no way you could have killed the clutch that soon.

That's the same thing I did...called the so-called customer service line and they made it seem like they were going to make it so I didn't have to pay. I wasn't even asking for the whole $2k, just the 400 to diagnose because I thought it was absolutely insane that they wanted me to pay them to figure out what was wrong. A week and $2k later...not so much.

Hope it works out better for you, but it sounds like they're stringing you along like they did me.

crap. i really hope they could do it... however, my car has been to the dealer 3 times from tranny problems...

shifting linkage, apparently some bolts broke...

then the day the whole clutch ordeal happened it was in for a transmission leak...

i did the proper steps needed to avoid it... it was just bound to happen and i happen to be 2k miles over the warranty of the clutch...

im just hoping for the best... we will see how it turns out...

here is a picture of her getting on the tow truck... sad part is that she had just gotten her windows tinted 2 days before...

You should have taken it somewhere else, although I'm not sure which dealers by you are nice.

Pulley !!!???????????????????????

If he suggested using a smaller pulley caused it then he was fishing for a reason to charge you. I would of asked him to show me where in the hell the pulley is and just exactly what does a pulley do on a TURBOCHARGED car. if you have had problems with the transaxle and it has been to the dealership then you should have paper work from those visits even though they didn't do anything. And if you have had it in to diagnose why there is a film of oil all over the transaxle housing that makes me wonder if there is a small leak some where and if some oil might have gotten on to the clutch facing. That would destroy it fast. I am only guessing, but I have a 2007 Supercharged Cobalt with 38,000 miles and I do not have any oil on the trans housing and if I did I would start worrying about getting oil on the clutch facings.

From one of your posts.
"and the funny thing is i was there today to talk to them about the tranny having oil all over it"

If your rear main seal starts leaking that would do it but you would notice the engines oil level going down faster than normal. If the transaxle has a leak somewhere that could also do it. Like I said I am only guessing but the oil on the transaxle housing does make me wonder.

The oil on the trans casing is probably from the famous cam end-plate leak.

I believe you are correct but the stealer ship doesn't know what to look for. Anyway I am waiting for a call from the district manager. He said he would be able to get the clutch job done under warranty. If not. I am doing the paperwork for a lemon. I have all the service records and already been in the dealer three times for transmission problems.

I'll keep you guys updated with any information I recieve.

As forthe guys wondering about the whole pulley story. The service manager was trying to compare me with another car that was in for clutch work. It was a young guy so he figures the young guy burned his clutch and since in young I'll burn my clutch.

Only thing is the guy didn't know what he was talking about.
