Thats a cute little turbo. Which one did you end up getting again? 5857, 5557, 5862, or 5454?

I want to say thats a 5857SP pictured above.

well everything was good. Last night the car started making a funny slapping/ticking noise. Today I went and bought a new timing chain tensioner and pulled the old one out. It was blown apart inside the motor, thankfully only the c-clip actually fell into the motor, the rest fell apart as I was pulling it out. Crazy thing is that was a brand new one when I put it in. Now I am in the process of pulling the front cover, I think that's where the c-clip will be. Wish me luck lol.

Well I found two little pieces of a clip lol. Prolly drain the oil and maybe pull the pan to get as much as I can. Unfortunatly it will be a couple days before I can get back on it.

Brad Penn. I have 125 miles on it, so I am not sure if I should just throw in some regular 5w30 or spend the money for the Brad Penn again

my uncle builds engines and a few companies have told him in seminars he has been to that new rings take a very very short time to break in with all the new technology and stuff. I would throw the 5w30 in by now just dont get on it to hard yet. The break in oil is just really high in zinc to help the break in, thats the big difference between the two.

i ran brad penn for like 300 miles and then switched over

Sounds good, also a really awsome feeling knowing it is all working right and me being the only one that worked on it, except for the engine builder doing his part.
That must be some feeling. Congrats man.

Starting to get the rest of my parts together to build a complete engine. I have a very low mile 2.4 Gen 2 block. LNF crank ,K1 rods,88MM Weisco pistons, Complete new 2.0 LNF head ,bearings, new intake and TB , exhaust manifold. I almost have everything I need except ARP bolts and studs and a turbo kit.
