Cobalt sounds... Different

Hey guys,

I may just be paranoid however I threw on a zzp engine and front rear trans mount yesterday. Fired her up with no issues and although yes its a lot more vibraty then normal didn't notice much. I ran her today and it sounded in the cabin like a suby no I read a lot and found broken lash adjusters to be the issue normally. So maybe I'll crack the valve cover real quick to look. But the reason I am asking is because on the outside it doesn't sound like a suby at all it only sounds that way on the inside. I was wondering if the new mount causes the engine note to sound different. I rolled my windows and went into boost to 15 psi and no suby sound at all in fact it sound beautiful as usual. Maybe I'm just being paranoid thoughts?

Maybe something just vibrating weirdly from the new mounts, if it sounds normal outside the car the only thing I could see causing that noise would be your new mounts. Cab sound could be altered by more vibrations from stronger mounts.

Thats from the zzp engine mount. It vibes the car like crazy and thats the sound you get from it. My buddies does the same thing. Im still trying to convince him to get rid of it.

Here is a video of it. It seemed like its getting worse, I dunno Im thinking about taking that mount off and putting the stock engine mount back on.

You can really hear the Gurgle like sound around 1:30 and ~ 0:40

Yea i hate my buddys. Shakes the car to ****. I would return your trans and engine mount and pick up some stage 2 mounts from ottp or powell. I cant remember who, but someone said zzps mounts arent actually rotated mounts.

You can't really go with the engine mount if you are driving it daily I have been torn between doing this but every time I read about a engine mount install it's bad unless they are tracking the car all the time then ppl love it.

If u don't install engine mounts in the correct tightening sequence it will vibrate like crazy. Powel has a how to for his, it should work same for zzp.

Your supposed to loosen the 3 bolts that thread into the engine a few turns and then drive like a mile. Come back and torque to spec. It helps for trans mounts but im not sure about engine mounts.
