Coolant temp sensor

so the pasted few days i have been having a cool a coolant temp sensor problem. well i some calling around to find one so i called autozone first 24 dollard and they will have it by Tuesday, so i called advanced and they had one in stock for 16 buck, so i was like sweet be there in 20 min, i go and pick it up go home and what do you know its not the right one i was like one so i took it back and said this isnt the right one the end for the pig tails arnt the same. he was like well that the one the computer said to use, we did alittle more digging and found the the right one. this is what i dont understand

to get it for a gm motor it 100 buck but saab uses the same part and they want 34 bucks???

i dont get it lol

Why do you think it's the sensor and not the thermostat? I've seen 3 thermostats go, but no sensors.

BTW if you have an LNF, isn't it still under warranty?

i dont have a temp reading just --- and i dont have lnf i posted it in the wrong fourm my b lol

its the sensor hard start, spratic idling, fans run consted, stalling after restart, i can pull the fuse and put it back in and it will read a temp as soon as the temp goes up its back to ---

how so? the thermostat has nothing to do with showing you coolant temp readings. the thermostat is spring loaded the spring gets to a certain temp it pops the thermostat open, the ect sensor is what shows you the coolant temp.

i have coolant runing through the motor i know that so but i still bought both so i hope im good lol
