Crankshaft Position Variation Relearn
could someone explain this , as regards to an ecu swap for balt ss/tc. i went to the website and saw something about crankshaft position relearn????
they make a ecu swap for us, right?
how much is it? part number/name
does anyone know if dealer can detect a swap, hear alot about a tech 2 tool or something?
do we (ss/tc) have to relearn this crankshaft thing?

Or any one of the scan gages out there (like the aeroforce interceptor gages).
And a swapped ECU is easy to detect - the numbers dont match what is stored from manufacturing. However, if you swap the original back in....

I purchased a new ECM from GTPprix and had no issues swapping it out. He just needed the VIN so he could set it up for me. Received the ECM the next day (paid for overnight shipping). Once swapped let the car sit in the power on for 2-minutes, then the engine turned right over w/o missing a beat. It worked great, and been in the car longer then my original ECM. I'm saving that for the mythical GM stage kit if it every comes out. 250 for ECM, 250 for a powerful canned tune is hard to beat.......I used to pay 800 for tunes on my Audi's (of course I did get 3 tunes with that).

Crankshaft position variation relearn is Automatic on LNF engines. The algorithm runs everytime the engine is started. There is no manual process for this on a 2.0 LNF.
