I think that these companies should make a SRI/CAI kit, is it just me or do you think it would be easy enough to bend a pipe that would go through the fender and everything and connect up to where the filter connects to on the SRI, with a coupler and move the filter to inside the fender? They could offer the pipe for another 50-75 bucks and we already have the filter, and if you live in a climate that gets bad winters and such you could just swap them out with ease.
alot of companys have CAI's but not like a SRI CAI option type thing lol but that would be cool

If you change the distance between the filter and the MAF you are asking for trouble in most cases your MAF reading will be skewed badly. A lot of engineering goes into making a good CAI for a MAF tuned car. SD tuned it does not make a bit of difference what you do to the intake you can make one out of PVC if you want.

Did not know it would make that big of a difference. Just thought the position on the sensor was all you needed to worry about. Interesting, it was a cool idea though, lol.

It will work if you have the MAF tables retuned using HP tuners.

Yes. You just may not be gaining all of the power possible form the intake if you don't tune for it. But you will feel/hear a difference.

You can, but ideally you should log data after you install the intake to make sure your fuel trims are not way out of wack. You need someone with HP tuners and a laptop. Unless you have a RPD I believe they can check A/F and fuel trims.

Nope, I had the same problem myself. I sent the intake in to Dejon(from hawaii) and he repowdercoated and added the flange w/hose and got it last Tuesday. Quick turn around. But yea, the stock box screw and AC lines had made their mark on my intake.

They fixed the breather hose not reaching problem but unless they change the bend of the intake it will rub. Just bend the airbox screw out of the way and put some rubber or foam between the AC line and the intake tube. Problem solved.
