Mine didn't smoke worth a crap. Just a great big puff for about 20 seconds. I let it sit for almost a half hour.

Probably, I figured it would work better the longer it sat. Is that a bad assumption?

Do I really have to go home today and make a step-by-step detailed How-To video on this?!

There's so much info everywhere on how to do this haha.

if you have never seafoamed before you might actually use a whole can or so. if you have some miles and have never done it before you probably wanna add seafoam to the engine oil a couple days before you plan to change the oil and you may want to repeat the vacuuming thru the intake till it doesn't smoke any longer

I recommended a Sticky to (hopefully) give new LNF owners a heads up on this issue. The treatment (assuming it works) is easy.
Personally I haven't tried Seafoam yet; I've used Lucas upper cylinder lube thru the port that connects to the vac tank a couple times and also ZMAXX last oil change. I guess the key is finding something that actually works and getting it to the valves.

I installed a vacuum tee in the vacuum line right on top of the intake manifold then ran a line off of that. Keep your finger over the line when not sucking in the seafoam and do a lil at a time. I recommend using a clear glass like I mentioned before so you can watch what you are doing. You DON'T want to suck it in quickly or stall out the car IMO. It should take 3-5 mins to suck in 1/3 of the bottle of Seafoam. Let it idle for another 30-60 seconds after and then shut the car off and wait 10 mins. Start it up, idle it for a min then drive normal for a few mins or until the smoke clears up. It will smoke A LOT LOT LOT LOT LOT lol.. This is normal, don't be alarmed. If you Youtube Seafoam you will find some examples of "the show" lol.
Did you have any problems blowing the cap of the tee Nick? Reason I ask is I just did the same thing and the cap keeps popping off.

If you use the vac port on the coldside pipe, that would clean the throttle body, right?

To be honest if the car is already has 30k miles I can't see seafoam doing much to the carbon buildup. It wasn't easy at all to come off.

it will be happening on EVERYONE with a D/I motors car. It's the same for every D/I motor that I know of actually.

And SEAFOAM works at this... I've done it 2 times now... 12k, and 24k miles.

Does running E85 make any difference, or does carbon buildup still occur?

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but can't you just take the head off, clean everything out, put a new headgasket on and call it a day?
