E47
Kids...
How is it a pain in the ass...
For us, because we can tune for it, the E85 pump should be relabeled, Hi-Octane Racing Fuel.
Good for 30-35HP...
I drive up to one pump, swipe the CC, put in 6 gallons, then go to the other pump, swipe the CC, put in 6 gallons, & I'm done... Maybe less than 5 minutes more to tank...
Guys have been putting in racing gas, since cars have been made...

Seriously, though, it's a pain in the ass because there is one pump in a 120-mile radius from me. I live right near it, but I live in Texas, so long-distance driving is common. If there isn't another pump on the drive out to the boondocks, I have to be able to make it there and back without a fill-up. I keep my laptop with me in case I need to switch back to gas, but it's still a pain in the ass for a DD. Luckily, mine is not a DD.
worst thing about being E47 tuned is pulling up the gas pump(91) then pushing my car forward to the E pump lol people look at me like im crazy and sometimes people even come to help me push
i approve of your methods
That's how I roll! At least at the stations I go to the pumps are next to each other. There are stations on the other side of the town where you can pump 91 AND e85 out of the same pump from a different nozzle.
But there are stations in the US where gasoline is not oxygenated with ethanol, and has 0% E.
Here in Arizona there aren't a ton of stations with E85, so while it is still perfectly feasible to run Ethanol fuels, you just limit out 90% of the gas stations. To me, that's the only real downside since the fuel mileage on E47 isn't actually that bad (maybe 10% worse than straight gasoline) but the power and reliability of it is outstanding. It's not like you ONLY make more power, you tend to make that power under even safer conditions than a less powerful 91 octane tune.
In Missouri almost all of our stations have E85 side by side. Different nozzle of course. Makes filling super easy. Maybe an extra minute for the second transaction.
Is it still considered E47 if the gas mixture is 91 octane? I'm looking at doing this to my cobalt this summer. I wanted to run E85 but didnt care for buying the zzp fuel lobe with opels. I have done some research. Is anyone actually monitoring the ethanol percentage during/or after fueling up? I've hear that some E85 stations may have less or more then 85%. Wouldn't this directly affect a E85/E47 tune?
I purchased a little test tube setup made by quick fuel. Pretty standard setup that a lot of guys use. Think I got it on amazon.
The e stations in my town replaced their 93 pumps with e pumps so I actually have to mix them in gas cans.
