You only have one nozzle haha? I'm kidding of course in the truck in my sig I have three 3gph nozzles. Course its a diesel and its 3x the size. I already run at almost ambient temps with my charged air cooler right now on the balt. When I mod it I might have to do meth to keep it cooler. What is your IAT at when you are running hard at the track?

Damn, mine haven't broken 100 degrees yet. Course I live in San Diego and its been a cool summer. I'll be headed out to Tuscon in September though so I will get some of that 120 action going. Not at all excited about it.

Use something like this.

Connect the fuel supply to the fuel line test port and use a piggy back tuning solution to add more fuel.

You guys are maxing out the DI system right? Well get more fuel pre DI.
That's really not necessary.. We only need the tables to be unlocked via HPT or use Trifecta's tuning for more fuel pressure. What you're talking about is someone going for broke.

And no, those of us with strictly tuning only, dabbling with corn are not maxing our fuel systems. Now, throw in VE increasing mods and you will find the limit as to how much you can safely run, very quickly

If you're running 50/50 E85/E10 then I wouldn't worry about the Meth anymore. You're getting more than enough charge cooling effects from the E85. PM me if you would like.

Please tell me you know that E85 does not cool the IAT's any. It's not introduced until the combustion chamber... so... it's a colder burning fuel but the intake charge is still coming in at w/e it is

Well ****, should've txtd ya.

Back to the E85 discussion, I dialed in my tune some last night. TVS, 2.8 pulley, ported head, and 80's for the main goodies. 8.4 afr 23* timing 19psi iat2 94-132. My clutch hates me and 06arrivalsc (Mark) said his stomach rose to his chest like a roller coaster! 2nd gear is insane IF it grips and doesn't slip the clutch.

Please tell me you realize you're in the LNF section.

Yes, I realize that running E85 will not directly affect IAT's like injecting Methanol will. However, Ethanol cools dramatically when atomized and will in turn help to cool the charge and reduce some KR brought on by excessive heat (IAT..).

Combine this awesome characteristic of E85 with the fact that the LNF is a GDi motor, which is known for it's innate ability to cool the air charge due to the fuel being injected directly into the combustion chamber and you get a much cooler air charge versus running straight pump fuel.

I've already told FF ace that if his tuner is recommending that he continue to utilize the Meth, then he should do so as his tuner would know his car/setup best.

Soooo, you're saying that unless I have an LNF I shouldn't reply? Yeah it went off topic, but the post you quoted was still relevant. The point at which the in-coming air is measured is what dictates the calculations in the PCM. When that occurs, the E85 is not cooling anything. But, I have an LSJ. I'll move on from your thread

No, you can post where you please. My point with that was that we're talking about direct injection and CHARGE COOLING.

Again, we're not talking about IAT cooling, you are. Not once did I say anything about cooling the IAT's with E85.

Yes, IAT's do in fact dictate calculations within the PCM but doesn't excessive heat in the combustion process add to the potential of knock/knock retard, especially under boost? And if you can cool the hot air that's been introduced into the combustion chamber, then that's good, yes?

Blah, I give up. Enjoy your e85 and I will do the same.
