E85 Performance Gains

Hi,
I just picked up a LNF Cobalt SS. Previous owner ran E85 with cam lobe and bigger injectors. He switched the tune back to 93. I was wondering for anyone who has done E85 what sort of power numbers you are putting down and your fuel economy?

Thanks

Wecome to the forum. E85 is like race gas, the gains can be significant with a boosted engine. Expect your fuel range to drop by 30-40%. I run water/meth injection which is almost as leet as E85.

Depending on the mods done on the car many see around 20-30whp but you have to have a specific tune to run it or you will lean the engine out and fry your pistons.

Depends on how knock limited you are and what your goals are. Going to E85 can allow you to add more boost along with more timing, so 'gains' from running race gas are the result of more boost and more timing.

Running race gas is probably the 2nd best incremental improvement after Force Induction. 'Incremental improvement' means a single modification that gives you a [relatively] huge jump in power.
