E85 is 85% Ethanol and 15% gasoline.

You get more HP out of it cause it has a higher octane, around 110 octane. Although it requires more energy to keep combustion therefor requiring more fuel.
I see 27 mpg with 91, but with E85 you may see 19-20 mpg. Its cheaper though

All turbocharged cars should require E85 instead of regular gas.

I thought you lived in Thornton? There's like 50 E85 stations in a 100 miles radius of Denver.

You get more HP out of it cause it yields more energy, however it requires more fuel to keep the burn.

I could be wrong, but I believe E85 actually yields less energy than gas, which is why your mpg drops. E85 has a higher octane rating so you can have more timing without knock, compared to pump gas

Yes, you are correct. I just couldn't think of how to word it. but its like running 110 octane, but requires more fuel to keep the burn. it also burns cooler

I'm not too worried about not finding it, I have my stock GMS1 ECU as a spare and I just keep it in my car. So if know I'm screwed and I'm not going to find E85, I'll just run it almost dry and fill up with regular 91 and switch ECUs.

However, I did find out that my fuel economy is just good enough on E85 to drive from Cheyenne to Denver, goto the track, make 7 or 8 passes and drive home without having to stop for gas. I drove 269 miles on one tank and refilled it with like 12.2 gallons -- so I cut it damn close.

I'm the same way. I keep my gas ECM in the trunk and put it in when I can't find E85. It runs like **** for about 5 minutes, then everything is A-OK. I have HPT, so I could just flash back and forth, but I don't like carrying the laptop in my car.
