waste of time if you ask me. Why get a gt28 when you can get a gt30 kit from BTF for half the price

It will hit 400, and thats about where it should top out. But, like slowswap said... why GT28 when you can GT30. The lag is minimal.

Well...I mean the difference is that the Synnapse kit comes with a downpipe, intercooler, charge pipes, tuning, turbo manifold..and is a COMPLETE kit...the BTF kit doesn't really come with all of the necessary supporting mods...although I would agree that the 28 is just too small...if you're going to upgrade..then UPGRADE!

bald turbo freaks. the btf kit is made to bolt up to all stock parts. so you can get parts from your favorite supplier such as hahn clear image or dejon.....then just use the btf kit. the kit comes with what you need essentially.

I agree completely. I was just commenting on the guy that said you can get the gt30 kit for half the price...while true...you'll end up spending about the same to get all the other stuff that you'll need to support a turbo of that size. Anyone that thinks that they will be able to buy the BTF gt30 kit and have the stock charge pipes and intercooler withstand a turbo like that is terribly mistaken...I just want that synapse manifold...it's so sexy...plus I emailed synapse a couple times and asked if they would be willing to do a gt3071 or gt3076 with their kit instead of the 28 and they said it wouldn't be a problem at all.

intercooler and charge pipes can be had for 250 (intercooler) + 400 (piping)= 650 so that still isn't $4000

I love how everyone is nutt hugging the gt30. The 28 is a well suited turbo for this 2.0L engine. Big numbers don't always make it quicker, just means it has a more impressive dyno. I guess it's a personal preference though.

I agree, I would want a fat curve that yanks the whole time than peak numbers myself.

it's in both...

lawlz!!!! So this has become a "my turbo is bigger than yours" thread. This is why no one can stand people from this site...

oh, and BTW, I don't see any intercooler, exhaust mani or a TUNE on the "cheaper" kit.

Thinking>you

i know both shops personally.. BFT likes to go big or go home but still makes it last a long time. synapse is a great store, morgan is a great guy and builds his kits to be a great all around driving car with an always useable power curve.

big numbers - bft
fast dd - synapse

You are wrong. OK let's break this down

BTF GT3076r kit = 2600
Some type of BOV = roughly 200
charge pipes (not Injen's either..I don't think theirs will flow a large turbo properly)= roughly 300
intercooler = roughly 400
some type of non-stock downpipe = roughly 250
tuning = at least 400 I would think (either buying HPTuners or going Trifecta)

and that total is 4150...plus you end up using the shitty stock turbo manifold in your setup.

Now Synapse hasn't gotten me an exact price on how much it would be to upgrade to any of the 30 series turbos but I could imagine it will be right around there..plus you wind up with that sexy manifold...so...

Dude!! im moving to phoenix in Feb well deff have to meet up sometime so i can see the kit!

If i could at least use my Hahn intake and intercooler piping(get a blow off flange welded on) with the synapse kit id prolly hafta go with that one. The downpipe i can deal with but honestly if i have to get rid of all my Hahn parts for the Synapse kit to work ill probbly have to go with BTF's kit. Sure the manifold doesnt flow good, but its not gonna cause damage or anything, and besides u cant even see the Synapse manifold when its on the car. Dont get me wrong i like both their kits but its all gonna come down to price in the end.
