engine swap

just curious for the people that have completed a engine swap on the cobalt ss turbo how did you take out the motor? was it lifted out of the hood or did you jack it up and take it out from beneath? and if taking it out from the bottom what did you use to jack it up? thanks!

Out of curiosity, why would you want to swap motors and what will you be putting in its place? I already took measurements... an LS block will be a pretty tight squeeze.

EDIT: Oh and in my experience... (in general) rwd lift the engine out... fwd drop the motor out of the bottom... rwd has crossmembers that go underneath the motor, FWD doesn't its all transaxle and engine.

It'll praly sound jus like that 2

There's not 2 many 4 cyl or 6 cyl(that'll fit) that I would swap in for an lnf... Sooo unless he's fend make a cool table for his room, I don't see much point in takin the engine out

How bout a no cylinder motor? I would swap a 13b twin rotor in there if I had a ton of money and time to engineer some engine mounts and spend a ton of money on a transaxle that would fit. Rotary engines are SUPER light. And a turbo 13b twin rotor can make a ton of power when built right. I saw one at a 1/4 mile track in a Porsche 914. It was brutally fast.

I'm going to be helping a guy swap a LNF in an offroad VW bug... Hopefully it happens soon, should be epic.
