enlarged fuel pump lobe
I was told something, but I can't seem to wrap my head around it.
(Yes, I did several searches before creating this thread.)
As I've previously understood it, we can make mechanical changes to our stock fuel system, but all changes screw up DIC fuel mileage/range readouts.
I was recently told that the larger fuel pump lobe does not affect these readings.
Does anyone have first hand experience running cams with the larger fuel pump lobe, and observations on mileage or range readings?
I would think that the ECM would get confused;
Do the fuel pressure readings remain accurate and show upped pressure, or does it read the incorrect pressure, and fuel mapping is adjusted as required?
(kind of like what's done when you run larger injectors!?).
I had a close call with a deal that would have netted me some money to have fun with, and even though the deal seems to have fallen through, I'm still thinking of having some fun...
Thank you in advance for any contribution you can make

The ECU monitors fuel pressure so it compensates for higher pressure in the rail if present. The ECU also controls rail pressure, it's not like going to the larger lobe just dumps fuel in the engine.
think of using a larger in tank fuel pump. you don't have to tune for that right? similar idea.

FPR takes care on maintaining targeting fuel pressures regardless of the lobe being run. Same thing goes for if there were hpfp upgrade options like on ms3's, and audi/vw's. No tuning is needed, the pressure is simply regulated.

I didn't want to waste anyone over at ZZP's time, more than I have already - but youre right ~ they will come answer my question, then (finally) someone else will come chime in
Thanks guys!
