F40 Tranny and a Turbo Question
Me and Dave got my WR-3 up to 422/441 on pump gas on their Mustang Dyno. Of course that was a 1 pull dyno just for numbers but if you are gonna throw meth in there and a good tuner with a WR-3 I wouldn't see a problem being at ~440-450...just my $.02
About right. I can see it being safe, consistent, reliable in the 415-420 range on consistent with meth with the wr-3 or zfr. Both, as I said, are amazing options for road racing and fun on the highway.
Yup I agree 100%! Alot of people get so caught up in numbers. I was one of them, until I started working with Dave and Matt. I sit at about 410 right now on low timing and low boost with a slow ramp. When I go back to the dyno in the spring to go E we are expecting up near the 450-460 area, and honestly thats ALOT of power for most people. The people that I always see saying "i need 475+ or 550+" just make me laugh, don't think they understand how much that is.

Yep! haha. The focus is on peak numbers too much instead of powerband, drivability, etc. These cars don't like making a lot of power, and start to break usually once they do. These cars are fun and incredibly reliable in the low-mid 400s, and plenty to make a fun street car as well. Most things that run up on you will be surprised.
Yep that is the conclusion I have came too. Although I do love ur car and the huge numbers it makes so I can't say it's pointless! Will def be at the half-mile watching you slay a few cars! My buddy is bringing like a grill and all that jazz so if you need a place to hang during ur runs, it's an open door!
I hope to do well. definitely come and hang out for sure!

Sounds like someone needs to just buy a different car with more hp, your not going to get "500" and spool on even a 256 turbo. Still going to spool at 4000 rpms and take a couple seconds for good response. But I will say this, if you race good and know how to keep the car in the power better the response will be better. Smaller turbo like the efr and a killer suspension set up is where you need to look.
I wonder if the part throttle boosting comes in part with the gay slow ass throttle body. But yes with e85 things become magic. When I hear someone say pump gas I think of 93. And I would never trust meth when you are going to be in boost for a long time, which is funny no one has mentioned that, your motor will not stay together for a single race on a road course boosting 25+ psi constant for 15-20 minutes. Say good buy block, doesnt matter how well built imo.
5Th injector all day.
He doesnt have access to E. Maybe in the future but nor now
Truth
That all depends on what fuel he goes with and how hot it is that day. On E85 and 70 degree weather I was seeing full spool at 3500rpms. With a 4.45 trans I see no issue with it being a track car but 500whp is way too much. There would be lots of part throttle boosting.

I really think the efr is the best choice in this situation. Maybe even the 7064 or whatever it is. That with a good suspension setup and (most importantly) a good set of tires it will be a killer car. Matt O has plenty of experience in this area. Where's he at?
Haha!
Don't you got some giraffes to feed? !

Yep, i told him about Matt O already as well. And wangspeed and powell. Bro you gotta know I'm on top of my ****!
Matt O needs to chime in! I'm so torn!!! Damn, sucks when deciding on what you want becomes the only thing keeping you from installing a pretty new motor in your car! Haha!
For people that need info please pm me. I work 2 jobs with limited between time and honestly I don't have time to keep an eye on threads for the time being. so if you need my help please pm me with your questions and ill do my best to aid you.

Don't get me started on tires after i tried to race on street tires this weekend.... fuggin ridiculous even on lowered boost. While i love the manual boost controller it does make throttle control a pain in the ass(for me anyways as i tend to get compressor surge if im on/off throttle under boost quickly).

No...but I do have this at a 60 roll to give you an idea.

Folks need to remember that the ZFR has the coolant ports which may be important for road racing vs oil cooled only the S256/259. Efficient intercooler and a good rad will be beneficial imho...

Coolant lines are a great edition but there's a lot of fassssssst road race cars our there running oil cooled only turbos. Like anything they require proper maitenece like any other part. If you don't maintain them or have someone else maintain the don't waste your time building a car with them as they will pre maturely fail.
