Fuel effeciency
Stay out of boost as much as possible and keep it under 75 mph. RPM plays a role but is less important than boost. If you shift at 2.5K rpms but push the throttle hard to get there you'll get bad MPG. Boost and speed... gotta watch those.
I found this to work well. You could go to other extreme of changing parts such as low rolling resistance tires, etc. But as a general driving guideline just follow those two rules and you should be getting all the MPG that you can.
Keep in mind it's winter. It's always worse in the winter. Has been for me anyway for many years. MPG goes up in the spring/summer.

Find someone who will give you a tune for MPG. I've asked Vince a few times, but it's a no go, but I do remember someone who did their own tune for MPG and got like 39 or so. You might look in the hypermile forum here, that's where I think I saw him post
I drive 66 miles a day in rush hour traffic and get 26-27, my highest was 28 for a couple of weeks, so really you should be happy with 33. Isn't 33mpg 3 mpg higher than what GM says the car gets?

What
But 28 is awesome man. I usually average 28 in the summer with mostly highway driving. I'm averaging 25 now.
33mpg is impressive... My SC gets 19-23 in town generally. It'll pull 30 or so on the interstate. How'd you up it so drastically? I know it's easier to lay off a turbo than a supercharger, but that's pretty fantastic.

its hard trust me. ive even started to hypermile behind semi's. you got to ease your way up the rpms. try driveing 5mph slower also
I have yet to hit the 30 mark on highway trips using the cruise - it's always been a shade under. I typically set the cruise at 5 over the speed limit.
Someone else mentioned the winter gas - I wonder if that may be the case w/ mine as well.
Oh, well - the 'Balt still gets better mileage w/o even trying than the Camaro ever has ( 25 MPG best - w/ someone else driving
) & the Cruiser is a gasaholic.
But, since it is pushing at least 5000 lbs at 65 w/ a 6 cylinder and full time 4 wheel drive, I can't blame it. Hope the 'Balt will still do as well w/ 1997XX K on it's clock.
And, yeah - the Camaro and the Balt get "the carbon cleaned outta them"
My Dad used to say that whenever he would open the 4 barrel up on the ' 73 Mercury station wagon we had w/ a 429.
What the hell - I did buy an SS/TC, not a XFE.

I've got a good tune for my car from a good HPTuner.
Basically it goes like this, if I baby the car, I can EASILY get 40MPG but if I step on the hammer I can almost literally watch the fuel gauge go down. A good fuel tuner will be able to give you both worlds IMO.
