To get KY clutch or not
I didnt ask i figured since some of the guys on here have big turbos and are fine with this setup then i didnt have to worry. Their number is 502-955-9173 if you want to ask
So I talked with Chris at KY Clutch and just went over everything. The price is 375 + shipping. It comes. with the clutch assembly (clutch disc and pressure plate) and throwout bearing. The only concern I have is how cheap this sounds. Is it too good to be true?
Name brand isnt the only awesome product out there. Every manufacturer out there started somewhere and was super cheap at one point. From what ive seen in mike's car its pretty damn good.
OK GUYS..... IM HERE LOL differences between name brand and ky clutch........ pressure plates are either made by sachs, exedy, or oek. So with me saying this most clutchmasters kits are premade disc including the friction disc, spec makes there frictions discs but get there pressure plates from other mfgs as does KY CLUTCH. but ky clutch does make there friction discs, and tests them out, the ceramic / ceramic will hold 650 wtq and has been up more. There kevlar ceramic is close to it but i doubt the kevlar would last long, they carry there 8 puck single face dsc that will basically blow your tranny up no slippage, btw trust me on blowing up, can you say bye bye tranny and lsd lol..... I Love there clutch, its great. Theres a local supra out here with now 1800whpo, alot of muscle cars (newer cars f bodies, mustangs, ect with high hp and tq on there clutches so there **** is legit, i made sure of it when i went up there with my lsj.. I never snapped a axel in it till i got my ky clutch just because of how good it held. My power is unknown now, since ive retuned it and fixed alot of the issues it had when i bought it. My engine is built same with tranny, and my car runs a lambda of .89-.90 at a spike of 32lbs and boosts at 28lbs constant ( sometimes) wastegate actuator is out lol hahn and i have been talking about a deal of replacing it since they have the same issue. And i had no issue with it, and my low boost setting now which is 22 lbs spikes to 26-28 because the actuator, and no issue, with low boost i run the same lambda. Reason for the high afrs is because of fueling issue and ive checked egts, ive checked everything and i havent had a isue, so why the fuc* not right. lol.. but ky clutch is a great option, the thread was deleted or locked because our moderator didnt think its was nice that they had a thread open where people wanted to know more about them and wanted tehre product. Buissness wise i understand, but i didnt make that thread to sale, i did it to show the cobalt owners theres a cheaper but better quality part out there if they needed.
thanks everyone.
^^^^^^ it will hold your power bro. lol

lol yeah i plan on going meth and i was thinking of a nitrous shot if i keep the car. im not 100% sure yet just cuz of the heat of thenitrous burn lol but we shall see. i will also be instlling the 8 puck ky clutch again because my tranny is now completely built with cryoed internalls and i hope to keep em that way
I know what u mean steve. Im just under 20k and need it. Partially sooner thanks to my friend destoying it that one night but still i was hopin for at least 30k out of it
good review chevycobaltss3. I think I am game for teh KY clutch when I need it. So far my stocker is holding power just fine, except in 4th gear when you wot at lower rpm (i soley did it to test for slip) and it wasn't too bad.
just went up to ky clutch and bought my clutch yesterday. just to advise you guys. he said the place he normally gets his pressure plates from has them on back order until MAY. he only has like 1 or 2 left. however, he did say he was gonna try to get them from somewhere else. best bet is to just call and talk to the guy. i met him yesterday and he is a great guy.
good news, im now fully interested in a KY clutch. You said he can get you a 4 or 6 puck clutch? What is the difference? How much slippage is allowed? Would a 4 puck be better for daily driver with intention of going to the track 3-5 times a year?
