To get KY clutch or not
if you say go to the track, your best clutch will not be the 3 puck, they can make you one but itll be a clutch more for like say only track use. The 6 puck is basically track and street, the 8 puck is just a track unless you can handle the holdng power. Meaning no slippage at all, one you let off your engaged completely.
there website you wont fina anything other then there stock clutches for cars, there clutches for us they make by hand, trust me they actually let you come in and watch them lol. When i had my 6 puck made they spent 10 min just to make sure this damn thing was balanced, and another 10 to make sure it was cleaned on the pads, and the splines were good. I was there first on the lsj platform and the lnf to get thiere clutches, and in my lsj i had a spec 3 and then i blew it along with a tranny, and i got the quaife 5 speed and had the ky clutch made, and omg, did i feel like a retard for spening 799 on the spec, cuz i got my ky clutch for 385 with the t.b...... On my lnf it was a lot better feeling meaning pedal feel, and engagement points then the POS clutchmaster stage 4 6 puck clutches. Whats nice is when i blew my tranny with there 8 puck i walked in to chris at ky clutch and said hey man i needa tad slippage with engagement, and he said SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO You want the 6 puck then i said yeah i do lol. So i got the 6 and boy was i happy... lol I did blow 3 trannys after this clutch but it wasnt the clutch it was when i was already in gear in third of course, and my car would fully spool at 3800rpm and i would spin till it caught traction usually arouns 100-110 and thrid gear would go boom. And two of these trannys were built by quaife.

Have you worn out a KY clutch yet? I am curious as to what kind of lifetime you could get out of one not taking it to the track and only pushing hard on the highway?
Which of their clutches would give the most stock feel with enough grip for up to 500 ft lbs? I want to future proof myself if I decide to get the BNR or ZZP upgrades.

If you read a previous post i have theres supra pushing 1800whp out ehre using a ky clutch and its on a 8 puck ceramic double sprung clutch, no slippage. the 6 puck will be fine for your 500ft lbs . I have not had a issue with the clutch.
I saw that about the Supra so I knew that an 8 puck was absolutely not what I need. I thought I read that Puck clutches were not what someone would want who does not go to the track, that the full face (I believe it's called) would be better. I want something that allows for daily driving and will hold the approx 500ft lbs, does the 6 meet both of those requirements?
yes the 6 puck is both street and track. The full face disc is good to about 450-500wtq, but id still do the 6 puck it holds up better and it feels almost like the stocker if you use a ceramic side and other side kevlar, but this also reduces tq rating by a little.
When I was giving my torque estimates I was speaking at the crank so 450-500 at the wheels should be more then enough.

about the group buy this thread will be deleted if it turns into that lol. it happened on mine. jsut call them and tell them about the thread and me, (James) and youll be ok.
I just got my car back today, obviously I havent drove it much but as far as the feel it's great. Not much different than stock. Chris is def a good guy to talk to, seems to really know his ****.
yeah for $1000, and half of the cost is something you don't even NEED... just have your stock flywheel resurfaced and go with a stouter clutch
that is the problem with the Exedy and the Spec Clutches.... won't work on the stock flywheel, that more than doubles the price of a clutch install
you couldn't give me the aluminum flywheel from Spec and for the money, I don't see the need in the Exedy unit... now if you were going aftermarket turbo, etc., yeah, I could see justifying that cost...
but seeing how MOST of us will remain under 475ft-lbs, the KY clutch will be all we ever "need"

its unknown but its alot more then its old owner had which was 420whp and like 450wtq, This is what hahn said it made on a horrible tune. This transmission i have in my car is the longest time ive had one in So yeah lol conserv tune on 22lbs is supposed to make 380whp old owner, since im the new owner ive put pistons rods ect in it along with all the other mods. so id say quite a bit more
the only issue like i stated is the damn wastegate issue. Also i did race a gxr crotch rocket and beat it pretty good on my 26lbs tune and he flipped my off as he passed me up at a off ramp, lol Yeah i usually dont race because its stupid but i couldnt resist lol proof wise i just had my rider and if you want more post up in the nashville meet and tennesse chat remix, they all drove my car and was like uhhhhhhhhhhh.

So your saying that the 6 puck ceramic/ceramic is they way to go and is better than the ceramic/ kevlar. Will a resurfaced flywheel work or will I need a new one.
