i believe he was noticing something when he turned but because of the bushings in the control arms he didn't know if it was normal or not, so he never got underneath the car until John Powell drove it around the parking lot and told him it wasn't normal.

It's not that they were terrible. The main issue was it is pretty dangerous, especially that far from home.

well that's news to me. at the time i last posted in this thread, i've only heard of y'all tuning a handful of Cobalts. but since you've done 30 Cobalts, please post results so that i may recommend you to the locals for tuning.

unfortunately after a situation involving your shop & a very good friend of mine, i won't be recommending y'all for part installations.

Cobalts arent our main business so im not gonna try to promote it. Its just not what we do.

As far as a bolt being loose or something im pretty sure if we forgot to put a bolt in he would have noticed A LOT sooner than 2 months later. No point in arguing bc it will be my fault regardless.

then why even be on this site? why even accept our business?

Fran, i like you guys. i've enjoyed having dyno days there and the eye candy is amazing. but why not get into the Cobalts a bit more? you've seen what they can do. granted they won't be insane fast like your twin turbo Vettes or sprayed 427s but for the bang for your buck, they're pretty fun cars.

as for my friend's car, that's between y'all obviously. i'm just bringing it up because that just looks really bad on your shop which has a really good rep everywhere else.

Well Im just gonna say it, I do believe the TOP tuners for cobalts are on the forum and are highly popular. There should be no reason that someone should go to a small town shop to get "dyno tuned" when they dont know the details of the LNF. If I went to Agile and asked them to dyno tune me, I would not feel one bit comfortable leaving that shop with a car that is going to make it to 100k miles. I've seen 3 destroyed subbies come out of there. Im not sure I would go to CBRD either. They are a good shop, but again they got some sour tuners there. All the tuning skills needed to tune a cobalt can be found right here on the forum.

I don't think you understand the effort that goes into getting into another type of vehicle. I sponsor a TON of websites and its hard enough to keep up with all of them. We are insane busy right now and i just don't have the time and effort to be getting into something else that wouldn't be a primary focus for us. I am not the most knowledgeable with them so i wouldn't know the best parts to recommend to the customer etc.

I agree that is between us but he has never called or confronted us about.

you had time to come on here and dig up a 6+ month old thread.

it would be really nice for RPM to get familiar with the platform so that there can be a place i'd feel comfortable recommending to locals. right now there's no "shops" (other than RPM) within a 2.5-3 hour drive from Delaware that have enough experience with the platform. i used to setup dyno days at Tune Time Performance in Toms River, NJ when i used to live just north of Dover....... that's 3+ hours away.

if you change your mind and would like to get more familiar with the platform, i can setup another dyno day at your shop and y'all can check out the Cobalts i get to come.

OEM clutch is cheap from CED and having a machine shop resurface the flywheel shouldn't cost that much. the big cost is having a shop do the work.
