$249 was only the cost of the install. I had already purcahsed the kit ot CED so the total cost would be $249 + whatever the current rate is for the kit.

You need custom tuning for a lot of the aftermarket parts. The GMS1 tune was created with the OEM parts and it doesn't adapt to changes like and intake.

So I was just told by the parts guy at my local chevy place that stage kit makes the car illegal to drive on the street

The parts guy is flat out wrong.

"The Turbo Upgrade Kit, when installed properly, does not affect the vehicle’s full factory warranty and it is 50-state emissions-compliant. Installation is quick, and includes a new ECM calibration and MAP sensors to work with higher boost levels. Premium fuel is required, but all other vehicle functions remain unchanged. "

I tried to tell him then he just said any modification to the turbo makes it illegal to drive on the street. Then I was like well how am I supposed to get it home after you install it. Idk I know he was wrong though and he couldn't even look it up.

Exactly. And I bet if I put the same amount of money in my car as he did his I would make moar power. It's not like he's running ONLY E85 and otherwise completely stock.

which dealership was that? sounds like some fitz bullshit. Btw i love my stage one, gm parts direct is cheaper for it then ced. stage one is worth it, see if you can find a place to do it cheaper, i'd try bogely in troumont.

i got gm stage 1 about 5 months ago. and still love it. 2nd gear pulls incredibly hard. only thing i don't like is first gear kinda sux since you only boost to 10 psi
