I'm waiting for the ZZP EFR. Direct bolt-on is a big deal to me, what with not being so good at working on cars. The numbers I crunched say with the ZZP EFR, E85, the bolt-ons in my sig, and a 22-23psi tune, I'll be 450whp. And that is plenty.

I heard EFR has bearing issues after 40k miles or higher. If this is true that sucks ass

Whoa, just saw Gdubs link, is that any good?

So I looked into this Autowerks a little more and I'm not entirely sure it's even any good. Now I don't know what i'm talking about for the most part, but here's what I got from my research and keep in mind I am not knowledgeable to back any of this up with any real experience or knowledge. I'm just assuming here.

Stock K04 Inducer is 43.3
BNRGT2860 inducer is 47.3mm (assuming this is the important number)
Autowerks larger compressor wheel is 46.5mm

So with that alone it looks like it doesn't even perform any better than BNR's 2860 and from what I understand the BNR2860 barely improves on stock flow. It's more of a stock replacement than any performance improvement.

So am I right or wrong?

I guess it depends where, I know my friends srt cost him $1300 for about 450whp.

Now that's value, kit was off ebay, and was cheap as hell and didn't come with anything extra besides the very core parts needed for the turbo swap.

I think his new axels cost more than it did to make the power to snap en lol

IDK. im working with Vince right now to figure that out

Edit:
Im getting 16% more air flow. Vince had this to say based on my last dyno run. 16% more airflow could mean up to 16% more power which could be as high as 380WHP.

We r going to try to do a little bit more psi push more power through the midrage and adjust timing

That's perfect for me!

If I'm understanding correctly, I currently have a total of 310whp and with this upgrade I'll have 360ish whp

Personally i feel this is the "perfect" turbo combo for this car. IT takes the power all the way to 6500 w/o a problem. and im getting 16% more flow which is good.
Is there bigger? YES. but. I dont want a drag car. I plan on racing at Watkins Glenn International next year. This seems right now to be a perfect fit.

Same here, but I do go to the drag strip often, but I don't want too much power. I just want a good daily driver with power.

I'm not trying to be the fastest guy in colorado and 375whp is my end goal. I can settle for 360whp 91 octane!

That'll be just right for me.

Yea, but you have to think. You can make more power with a similar power curve as an SRT 4 if you pay as much as the good kits for srt4s. You also have to think about an ebay turbo kit. They aren't the best. Someone most likely slapped a turbo under the hood of an SRT4 and just said "HEY, IT FITS!".

It's good to be a LNF owner now a days. I've just learned so much since being a member.

Now I've come to learn that there's not only EFR from ZZP that bolts on, Hahn is making one, Performance Autowerks has one, BNR. Who else is gonna make a bolt on turbo? I don't know, but we have so many choices. I really wish they'd just make a Cruze SS to keep all these companies building products for the Chevy platform.

Is the Autowerks turbo a true bolt on or is there gonna have to be modifications like BNR's turbo.

Like can I keep my bypass valve and charge pipes and intake

Tuning went great! This thing is a F***ING MONSTER. we are hitting 26psi! and then stepping it down to 24.5 in the higher RPM. We have advanced the timing and increased the power in the mid band quite a bit.

The turbo pulls, and pulls, and pulls, and pulls, all they way to 7k with out any drop off at all like the stocker used to do.

Also the sound on the turbo is retarted! its so loud. The sucking noise sounds like a jet engine! (not really) but its really really loud.

And yes this is a ture bolt up application.

I will be writing a tread on thursday or friday with all the info. Including dyno graphs if i can get time on the local dyno here.
