It was only 1-2 seconds faster from 60-120 than stock. I guess that is an ok gain but 60-120 stock was approx 17 seconds, S1 was approx 15.5 seconds. I have never done a 60-120 in my car but 60-100 takes 4.9 seconds according to my logs and 60-110 takes 6.1 seconds.

Thanks!

Also where are you located in Canada? I spend my winters in Ottawa or Vancouver most years. The wife's family lives there so we take time to visit and snowboard.

I love it up there.

Moran? Whalen?

Sounds like the gains from the stage kit are similar to those from a trifecta (or insert other tune company), although with a warranty and probably is more thorough due to access to more ECM and that it passes CARB.

I know I can break the tires loose @ 40-50ish and 3rd gear is an insane amount of fun after tune.

I have a theoretical question Bill... Let's say someone has a tune and they decide now that stage 1 is out .....they are going to buy it and use it as their only tune. Would they be back in the warranty god's good graces again ? Thanks for any incite you might be able to add.

I'm addicted to ... 2nd gear.....rolling burnouts lol. I've never liked 1st gear burnout's cause i always feel guilty afterwards.....like clubbing a baby seal ....guilt.

Now 2nd gear rolls are nice and gentle , no hop .......just black marks . It prolly not the easiest thing on the clutch .... but oh well.

In my opinion yes as long as you are not limping into the dealer with oil dripping out of a hole in the side of oil pan or block or knocking so load you have to have the radio turned all the way up just to hear over the knock.

Thanks for your opinion . I totally get what your saying ... The stage kit was my first choice , but I wanted to have a little fun this summer so went with superchips .

Now that the kit's out I want to get it ..... and warranty would be one of the reasons to do it . ....as it seems the SC tune and the stage kit make roughly the same power. It's kinda a side grade with benefit's.

GMS1 is a canned tune that GM offers. It increases horsepower and torque to 290/320 respectively. Its nothing compared to Trifecta or HPTuners but its a nice power increase if you want to stay within the realm of the warranty. You can only get it flashed at a dealership.

GMS1 is 280hp 320tq. @ the crank.
Peak tq is around 4000RPM I believe, sit a little lower and punch it in 2nd gear you will get tire squeal all the way up through 2nd, at around 100kph. (Hard to tell with laggy speedo)Keep in mind this is on a summers day, In colder weather will still spin just not squeal.

NFamous60, the GMS1 is considered to be conservative tune w/new sensors included, and good for a Daily driver, also maintains factory warranty which is a huge selling point. Cost me $900ish CAD after all taxes.

GMS1 reacts decently with few bolt on's, but if you have mild to extensive mods you should go custom trifecta/hpt.

I am very happy with GMS1, but once warranties up will be going custom tune for added power.

Trifecta tune is about $320 with a little more power and a switchable tune between two boost pressures of your choice, if that makes up your mind for you.
