Help--Turbo timer?

Hey everyone, need a little help. My service advisor at my dealership told me that there was a secondary oil circulation system in my 2009 Cobalt SS and that I did not need a turbo timer or to let the car run for awhile after driving to avoid coking the turbo. Is this correct? I can't find any info either way in my owner's manual and am having trouble finding info on the net. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Hey right on. I appreciate that. Is the first time I have seen any real info on it. I was just worried about it since I have a bunch of tuner buddies that have timers and this is my first turbo'd car.

worth it in my book, rather prevent than have to replace something that might cost potentially a lot more, specially of you're looking to start pushing more power on the stock turbo or a turbo replacement<<-- i plan on doing this when i get my ss/tc

Not necessary. You stock turbo is oil and water cooled so It will never have the need for one. And, if you did end up going to a dif turbo, that wasn't water cooled, your turbo timer would be seldom needed and when it was you could just take 30 seconds to sit in your car and wait. They seems like a toy to show off more than anything useful to me.

You dont need it stock.....

And its a big maybe if you had every bolt on part that Hahn sells with a tune....

is it better to have? no..... Does it really make a difference? No... Why? Because you have
an oil and water cooled turbo that even after you shut off the car still circulate through turbo to
cool it down.... Even cars such as STi's, Evo's etc dont need them for the same reason....

but it cant hurt.....

Natural circulation, thermal driving head. Big terms, but none the less keep the oil and coolant moving after shutdown

stock bov is a bypass valve, its internal. There is a beige cap with a vacuum line running to it. you can it if you follow the intake into the turbo, the beige cap is right above it. Do u have an aftermarket charge piping? a hahn or BTF bpv block off plate?
