How do we get traction?
lol. looked pretty useless to me.
and to answer your question op, once you have an agressive tune second gear is pretty much useless.
some spin is okay. learn to pedal it. below is a 400+whp cobalt having no problem in second gear

Useless, are you serious? Do you really expect a 420whp fwd not to spin some? Learn to drive
Also, those are Goodyear Eagle GT All-Season tires.
People sure do like to talk out of their asses on this board. You can either take the lessons of the veterans with cars making around 400whp/wtq who have been doing this for a while, or you can act like you know what you're talking about with your 280whp/310wtq car.
Nobody wants to spend the money... or take the time to search out a good solution.
For LNF's, you have to find some 17's (SS/NA and Redline wheels work, iirc). 18" DR's in sport compact sizing are damn near non-existent. Or you can swap to LSJ brakes and open your world up to 16" wheels and tires.

245/45-17 (90% of you REALLY don't need this wide of a DR... trust me. I don't even know why I'm mentioning it, 98% of you will never buy DR's at all.)

if you want to get some good grip, get stickier tires like the Nitto NT555's, ZZP chromly control arms and coilovers to stiffin up the suspension all around. It makes a difference to keep weight on the front tires in FWD.
not that its alot of horse power but im stage 3 full bolton's 2.9 puelly and well we all know the rest.
any way, My buddy thought me how to do what all these guys are telling u to do. Nothing more nerve racking then ur first time at the tree lights getting ready to do a quater mile but with practice i got it down.
i hold the clutch till its almost ready to grab. give first gear a little less then half thorttle slight spin i feel my tires hook i hammer her home. its not bad once u get the hang of doing it. or like me do a few times every couple weeks on a country road lol
are u making fun of the goodyear eagle tires lol im running those right now !

From: 6000ft on a Mountain in Colorado!
Well to add to my incompetence of launching a fwd car I watched that YouTube video and thought he floored it let go and floored it again. Repeated this until he got traction. I practiced my launch yesterday and did this on the on ramp and felt like an idiot going WOT then letting go of the throttle completely and flooring it again.
Feel free to insult
Anyway this morning at 4am I tried it again on my way to work. But instead of fully letting go I just feathered back and did a hell of a lot better!
Wonder why I didn't get this during track season last year?

yea im bolted and tuned 23psi on stock tires. i just roll quickly to about 3/4 throttle then squeeze to WOT gently and i dont spin. if i just stomp it then i roast the front tires off of it cuz it has too much torque.
