How do we get traction?
Sure, second gear is a problem. But the method is still effective at keeping the car accelerating at a good rate. It was certainly good enough to freight train a 450whp Supra and a 380whp RX7 from a DIG.
Also, those are Goodyear Eagle GT All-Season tires.
There was no short shift, it was right at 7k. And it "looks pretty useless" until its running a train on your ass.
People sure do like to talk out of their asses on this board. You can either take the lessons of the veterans with cars making around 400whp/wtq who have been doing this for a while, or you can act like you know what you're talking about with your 280whp/310wtq car.
At the end of the day, if you don't want to spin, get some real tires.

what an ass. i'll assume you are talking about me. i watched the vid again. in second gear you can't even see the tach. how would you know its at 7k? i never said that car was slower than mine. "looks pretty useless" comment was directed to the vid when he jumped on it in second gear. spinning and pedaling, it did not look very effective. and how do you know what my car puts out for horsepower? grow up.
And I know what the tach was at... because I was driving the ******* car.
I also never said, that you said, that car was slower than your's. But I did say that you can sit there and say it looks ineffective based on you watching a video, but the fact of the matter is, I've tried and tested MANY methods, logging the amount of time it took to get from 40 to 120, and that one works the best. You can't get a feel for how hard the car pulls in that situation... but trust me, its still rolling out hard. And I never said I knew what your car puts out for horsepower, I was referring to the multitudes of people across the site that generally act like they know everything there is to know about 400+whp cars, when they've never driven something with more than 300whp, or even close to that much. It was more of a generalized statement based on pent up agression from multiple threads, like the kid in a stock base model telling me that any FWD car with over 400whp was completely pointless, because you'll never be able to get any traction, in any gear, on the street.
its funny when people make half the horse power than you, then try to tell you how you should drive the car... they have no clue. BAHAHAHAAHHAHA
Make double the horse power you make then talk kid.

The entire post was not directed at you, just the part about short shifting and running a train on you.

And you grow up first, then you can pull your panties out of your ass crack and quite whining about the things said. No reason to get butthurt.

Yay, torque!
That's kind of what I figured would happen with the Goodyear Eagle GT's... surprisingly though, they did extremely well. On my first turbo set-up, making 360-370whp with low 300wtq, they wouldn't even spin from a 20 roll on a warm day. Blazin' was in the passenger seat when I punched it at 20mph at CED 2010... sucker just grabbed asphalt and took off.

How old are you?
How many records have you set?
What have you accomplished that no one else has?
What's the highest horsepower car you've actually driven?
Have you ever made a turn going fast?
How many inches to your manhood did 400whp add?
Got some questions for you...

What have you accomplished that no one else has?

You don't have a point, that's the problem. Most of those questions prove nothing about a person and/or their knowledge. Age especially. Records? Who the hell cares, unless you are a dedicated drag racer or road racer? I'm neither. Accomplishments? I've got plenty of accomplishments. Do any of them really matter? No. Highest HP car I've driven? Sprayed SRT-8 Jeep. What's that matter? It doesn't. Just because you've driven a fast car, doesn't necessarily mean you know how to drive a fast car. Search google for ZR1/Ferrari/Lambo wrecks and you'll see what I mean. And like I said, I've taken plenty of turns fast. The Cobalt has been to the Dragon, and I've got a MK2 GTI that's prepping for some SCCA and HPDE action this year. And like I also said... the 400whp added 5". It was a cold day, so it was a little shrivled up... then I hit boost... and it extended itself about 5".
I've contributed a lot to this forum and was one of the first, if not the first, to do a lot of things to these cars, if that's what you are trying to get at. I don't know everything, even if I come off as acting like I do. One thing I DO know, is that my methods for traction are effective. The car is set-up properly, as well though - which is a big step that most people forget.
Anything else, sweet cheeks?

"Now respect us veterans with some real powuhhzzz who know how to handle FWD fury the right way!'
BLAH BLAH BLAH!
Anyone who made it past the 8th grade knows for a FACT that FWD cars with big power are the least efficient at making use of said power. No one is gonna drive around on slicks like a retard. That's all some of us were trying to point out.
I was always taught if you're spinning, you ain't really moving. I also understand that it's hard to avoid and that pedal modulation is the next best thing. We all understand that.
Got it "Sweet Cheeks"?
My point is that you came in here acting like you're Mr. Badass with a 400hp Cobalt....

I wasn't specifically talking about myself when I said, veterans. There are quite a few guys that have been around the block posting in this thread, and all across the site actually, who haven't been respected as far as the information they've provided. Its nothing new though, been that way for years... which is why A LOT of the older guys don't even post here anymore. Since you've only been on the forum for like 6 months, its probably hard for you to see that though. And no one said to drive around on Slicks... I mentioned Drag Radials. There is a difference... and there are a lot of cars across the country that choose to drive the streets on DR's, so its not really retarded. Its effective, but expensive. And you say "we all understood that"... yet there were MANY people that were doubting its effectiveness.
Did you actually read the thread... or were you just skimming?
As I mentioned in response to a different response to my post, "I was referring to the multitudes of people across the site that generally act like they know everything there is to know about 400+whp cars, when they've never driven something with more than 300whp, or even close to that much. So you, just like the other guy, can dig your panties out of your ass crack and stop acting like it was a direct attack on you.

dont be jelly cause you aint making power like all of us
maybe you need a new tuner hahaI drive around on drag radials like a retard but i make sure that every bit of horsepower is used and do not have traction issues unless its cold or wet.
so again let the vets stick with getting traction on faster cars, "nugga"
