that is the difference between GM and a bike manufacturer. Bikes built right to take the abuse. I have been fed up with GM, warranty issues, shitbox breaking. when I saw the turbo I thought I would get it, leave it stock, go for warranty. but now seeing **** like this screw the car I would be frustrated again as stuff just breaks and I am riding in a rental for a month while weekly I am defending how I drive the car and not abuse it so it breaks.

my conversation with a motorcycle dealer -

Me - I going to run it doing drag racing and track days for fun. that is why I getting a bike. any problems getting warranty doing that.

dealer - no that is what they are built for (with a dumb founded face like why I would even question it)

Me - I may put a complete exhaust on it and flash it for better fueling.

Dealer - Yeah we sell that no problem. still warranty to be had. no problem. come back with times your laying down if you buy from me. I want to see them.

Guess I will stick with my plans for performance fun. we also have lots off snow so a 4X4 is nice.

I do wish GM would make something tougher. they have the right idea. maybe one day they will figure it out.

GM does not plan for any stage kits due to the transmission. stage kits are available for the soltice turbo but they have a different drivetrain to handle it they claim. these are GMs words not mine.

Well if you want GM to make a tougher car.........prepare to pay for it. You need to remember that our cars are not expensive and things are going to break. ESPECIALLY a first year production run.

Anyway, just as I figured last night, it was the fuel pump that Broke off, can't get it fixed til Tuesday, Nice, now I can't work for 3 days. The guy said it looked like somebody took a wrench to it and pulled it off, yea right, this **** happened once already, I told him that. The Damn Piping popped off the POS plastic thing that holds it in place, and snapped it off. I already knew what happened when I saw it last night at the strip.

yes, AWD can be better in the winter.... but the Cobalt w/ snows runs through snow like a tank....I took her thru 2 winters here (Chicago) and made it through the 06 winter storm that had many AWD cars stuck or off the road.... TIRES are the key!!!

I saw you there last night at the strip. I only saw you run once though, not sure which one it was. Every other time I saw you you were in the parking lot (probably fixing your car, lol), or the staging lanes. I was surprised to see a TC there. For what it's worth, the one run I watched looked pretty good.

Agreed!

AWD does give better traction sometimes......but it also gives some people a false sense of security and many people who have it end up driving faster. But AWD does not stop faster. Every winter here it is either someone with a 4x4 or an AWD vehicle that is in the ditch first because they figure they can drive faster in winter conditions.

A good set of winter tires (Blizzak for example) will make a huge difference and will make winter driving not that bad.

I highly suggest you get under the hood and tighten each piping clamp once you get your car back. It will take all of 10 minutes, and could save you tons of trouble in the future.

I ran a 16.49 @ 84mph. I have a 2.2 tho and that was also my first time ever to a track. Yea it was packed though, I only got one run in and that was at like 10:30. It was fun though. Hopefully once you get your car fixed I'll see you there again.

Yea, I'm going back again before they close up for the winter, Anyway, it wasn't a clamp that broke. It's this little thing that sticks out and the Pipe just pops on and off like a rubber thing, I don't know if that can be tightened.

WOW! The location looks like engineers did not account for the engine movement under WOT.

Looks more like poor GM design than driver error.

Yea, the guy at the dealership was like that pump is fragile, and I was like then why did they put it directly under the I/C pipe.

Yeah I ran in winter with winter tires, lowered with Eibach sportlines. front the light others would beat me off the line. once underway the car handled very well. but I missed my jeep. not only did you leave the lights better than anyone else, you could go through snow half way up my grill. there is no way a cobalt could. and those people you see stuck, yeah there not to bright, but I have seen cobalts and other sport compacts in the ditch in summertime cause they litteraly think there car is on rails. as for stopping well tires make a big difference. my jeep could stop faster than my cobalt ever did (in winter). not that the cobalt is bad, jeep was just better (it was not stock). but our winters here in Canada are different from CHICAGO. we get dumped on pretty bad here.

that sucks. I will pay more money for toys that are built right. that is what I hope gm figures out. they are on the right track but just built a little to cheaply. I have looked at evoX. nice, pricey, I was in for the ride, but the trunk space killed it for me. there is no room for a sedan. it is really sad. I dont like the looks of a Subaru.
