Who's doing your install, putting studs in is not a serious modification.

If you wanted to you could use hardened bolts, lock washers and nuts to bolt the down pipe to the 02 housing.

Sounds like they are trying to rip you off to me.

Glad you got it worked out. I'm sure it'll be fine.

I need to check for shaft play on my turbo. I'm sure its prob got a lil play and if so the balts going up for the winter and a turbo kit will be ordered a lil sooner than expected!

the efr kits from pwerks look really solid. If I felt the car was worth it I would buy.

But the cobalt is done for me. Time to start learning about turbo supra

I hear ya. I was wanting an e46 m3 to mod to begin with, but they get expensive fast where they aren't turboed from the factory and HorsePowerFreaks is just plain ridiculous anyways. It'll be one of those "When I graduate college..." things.

It's on and I drove home which was an hour away! I'm getting surge like crazy at partial throttle, not sure if it's my Forge BPV and it's yellow spring or if it's tuning since I'm still on my regular Trifecta Tune. I sent a series of logs to Vince, I believe he'll get back to me before the day's over.

As for the WOT pulls well, it's already noticeable for the better. I'll get dyno'd and all that good stuff too. I'd say it's a good mild increase. I'm happy with it unless this Surge can't get figured out.

I don't believe its not flutter, its has to be surge, happens on boosting building or before the bypass; before I let of throttle.

Why the hell are you attempting a WOT pull before it's tuned? Ugg.

I'm tuned Trifecta, not stock, but it's dialed in for a K04 not K04+

And to answer your question Vince suggested I do WOT's mixed with various driving conditions. So I obliged. Just doing what I was told.

I'd imagine Vince would have wanted that for data logging purposes ...... but only for datalogs I'm guessing.

Vince sent me his first revision and surge is barely present. It feels better and stuff, but there's crazy fluttering now. It's almost if my forge bypass valve's yellow spring is too much or too little for it. Not sure, I'll wait until he finishes dialing me in before I mess with the spring.

I have forge's spring kit so I may try green and if that doesn't work I'll try blue.

Is the fluttering only present when letting off the throttle?

What a ****ing nightmare. The turbo was put on last Tuesday and Thursday I noticed a leak. I thought it was coolant from Firestone doing a coolant drain/flush and fill. So I took it back to Firestone and they found out it was an oil leak. I told Vince about it and he thought it was just the oil feed line or drain line not being torqued right. So I called up the shop that installed it and they said bring it up. I couldn't bring it up until Yesterday.

Took it in and he said your (meaning mine) oil lines are dry, it's coming from the turbo itself. So he took off my charge pipe and there's oil everywhere. Inside my Bypass Valve, intercooler, etc.

So I had to get him to put back on my stock turbo.

Filed a paypal claim against TX.SS.TC because he sold me a used (carbon build up in exhaust side) and defective turbo. That's my theory anyway.

HHRSSouth, yes turns out the K04+ doesn't like the yellow forge spring. Fixed the flutter with the green spring, but the problem with the turbo didn't end there.

I hope you get your money back man.

So the oil seals were shot in the K04+?

How many miles did TX.SS have on it?

If the K04+ turbo has low miles I would have emailed works racing and ask them wtf, no way the seals should be gone yet.

Who knows you might have gotten a free rebuild out of it.

See you should have got a BNR 2871GT turbo, by the time you get done paying for all the stuff wrong you could have had a BOV, a flange added and been on your way.

Damn dude, im sorry! that sucks to hear. Hope you get your money back. Was there any damage to your car other than the turbo?
