LHU (Turbo Regal) Motor Pics!!!
Not an LNF, but close. Check out the exhaust cam-driven vacuum pump. Also check out the charge piping... It necks down to about 2 inches inside diameter right before the throttle body, and coming off the turbo, it's probably HALF the diameter of our stock charge pipe! Keep in mind guys, this engine is only 220 HP. Looks like the same turbo though, too.
Also, the intercooler means GM learned something from us! No more plastic end tanks! (See my other thread lol) The intercooler is much taller and skinnier than ours, but I couldn't get the camera in anywhere to get a pic of it.
Without further delay:

Wiki shows this engine as going in the GS model as well , interesting I thought the LDK was going in that.

Not only that but what makes it different to be able to support Flex Fuel .... Direct Injectors .
I am thinking some parts will be interchangeable..... https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2010...10/index2.html
Maven clears it up but still..

Oh yeah I forgot to mention it was flexfuel too. I am going to check tomorrow at work (if I remember) if the injectors are a different part number from the cobalt's injectors. I was wondering if they are bigger for the E85, but I doubt it since the motor makes less hp.
I had a picture of the flexfuel badge on the back of the regal but I didn't put it up on my photobucket
And when I said not an LNF, I meant technically. As far as the longblock goes, I'm sure they're mostly the same motor.
Official rating is 220 hp 258 tq. IIRC 19/29 mpg as well.

Gimp could get enough E85 into his bone stock SS sedan, just had problems starting it under 50*f. Took a double shot prime.
I ran out of fuel on my bolted LNF at about 70% ethanol at 2800 psi. (360ish whp, 420ish wtq) Problem was in the midrange where the fuel pump was lacking pressure, not at 6k.
220 hp on the LNF injectors w/E85 would be cake. Curious if the injectors are the same though, please let us know.

Its all about getting the most power out of the smallest package to achieve the highest efficiency/MPG. Thats where GM is headed, and we can see it in the 1.4L turbo Cruze. The people who have no idea what an LHU is will buy this car because of its MPG and its get-up-and-go on the test drive, not for its power/weight ratio. Just my opinion..

^^ like these people , GM you do realize these people are going to croke one day don't you ?
GM- making cars for old people!
Basically.
On another note, I drove one today and they're awesome. Interior noise doesn't exist, they are very driver-centric control wise, comfortable too. They really need a charge pipe, intake, and tune in the power department though.

Do you think that the Regal GS is the LHU + GMS1. Here is what I was thinking. The base LHU power (Regal CXL Turbo) is 220hp 258tq and the Regal GS is 255hp 295tq. So, besides flex fuel the LHU is the LNF? Does anyone know if there is internal differences or is it all in tuning? If the LHU is the LNF, I don't understand why they cant make the new LHU in the Regal GS 290hp 320tq. Any thoughts on this?
