The LNF Block

hey guys so I am looking to join the SS family but I am a little concerned whether to get an LNF TC OR LSJ S/C this is by no means asking which is the better one, Dona want to start that lol.

I am just really concerned about the LnF with that porous block problem? I don't want to buy the car and just be worried all the time I want to enjoy my car.

My goals would we around 350hp to the wheels in either car I know that will be alot easier or cheaper in the LnF. any help would be appreciated ! thanks alot

Don't worry about pourous block. It only happened to a handful of people and most have already been taken care of.

if 350 whp is your goal, get an LNF.

Then you pay 3 grand an drop in and LDK...but im telling you, do not worry about it.

if it bothers you that much, just get a 2010 or a 2008. the 09's were the ones that had the issue

I have an 09 but it's #2400 of the 3000 that were produced so I'm not even worried about my block. But I wasn't to begin with. Coolant has stayed the same in the 3 weeks I've driven it.

How can you tell your # ? And is there a range where you should be worried ? Did this affect the 08s?

the last 4 digits on vin should be the cars number of production in order ending in 0001 being the first one.

As far as i know it affects the 08's too, heard of a few 2010's as well. The problem wasn't fixed until the ldk was created. I have a late model 09, I'm not overly concerned about it. Car has 110kilometres on it tuned to 300whp/350lbft and driven pretty spiritedly.

If it happens it happens. Zzp sells the short block.

It's a much smaller # of cars than everyone makes it out to be.

Just updating... The porous blocks were the 09 models built in the late 2008 in pretty sure and those should be gone as they've been around for 6-7 years now. Don't worry.
